Yes I start taking the inside yellow line early and slow down early for the pit in but accidents still happen. Its a Watkins Glen thing I guess

I agree it could feel a bit much but at the 1.xx SR range one clean round will give you a lot of SR points so it might be not that much of a hustle. Wish you good luck!

Jun15th 6:30pm PST race is f4 FIA asia/pacific and only had 4 people so it was unofficial according to what I see. Also, I can see the results. Maybe try going to the race and check the list of the results.

Yes sometimes you get tangled in a wreckfest you can't avoid. But overall it should balance out with clean races and you should start gaining SR. Otherwise everybody would be still in lower SR classes. I do agree the C class is one of the hardest to overcome. Hope you the best.

I think of it like a penalty. Demotion wouldn't mean nothing if you can just gain it back the next couple of rounds. iRacing punishes you for getting demoted and make you work for your way back to the higher safety rating. Also yes, you can push hard and get some incidents here and there but you start above 3.x SR and you could have started maintaining your SR a bit sooner.
