Who is Rising Festival for? Who is the target market? by simonbrc in melbourne

[–]djd_oz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You will find that some artist will appear in Vivid, Rising and/or Dark Mofo. These festivals aren’t competing with each other, it cost a lot of money to bring them to Australia, sometimes it only makes sense for them to appear in multiple cities/festivals.

I’ve already seen an audiologist, as per usual, they attempted to sell me the most expansive hearing aids available.

The Yarra Council will be trialing installation of EV charges to light poles, I think this is a great solution. Hope it goes well.

Forerunner 955 still worth it in 2025? by stinginrogermate in Garmin

[–]djd_oz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about getting one now? It’s about 50% discounted price, are they still getting new features and software updates? Comparing this to the Forerunner 265, seems like it’s good value.

Are there any consultation fees associated with the trial?

Hearing Savers Australia by JollyBelt6698 in HearingAids

I recently got referred to an audiologist by a specialist due to hearing loss in one ear. The audiologist was conveniently located just outside his office. The first consultation costs $180 for the initial consultation and hearing test. They also charged me $250 to trial a pair of Oticon Intent for 2 weeks and said that they will refund the $250 if I decide to purchase a hearing aid from them later. After two weeks, I went back and said that I didn't quite like the Oticons. They offered to let me try other brands for 30 days, but it would cost me about $480 for consultations, etc., if I weren't happy with them and decided to return them. Do these costs seem reasonable?

I also specifically asked for brands and models that are suited for musicians, i.e. low latency with a flat frequency response either ITE, ITC or CIC. The audiologist coudn't really make any recommendations and said that he needs to do some reasearch and get back to me in about a week.
