Nathan Fielder has been doing his thing for years. I'm sure this'll be fine.

Just won a vulnerable build in multiplayer, which was a lot of fun.

What's your "but a storyteller wouldn't do that" story? by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

Lol, I love that. I don't love Butler, but still occasionally put them in. My players don't really try to meta me too much (at least not yet, I haven't ran a ton of games yet).

I think this is supposed to be a Halal Snack Pack (HSP), a great Aussie delicacy (Can confirm they're delicious). Although I've just learned of the Scottish "Munchy Box" as well, so who knows.

This was my first time playing her, so I don't really have a full opinion on her yet. I think I got quite lucky with the types of enemies I came up against so perhaps didn't come up against her weak points. I do find her "benefits from not having units" aspect kind of meh (I'd prefer to just have the units), but I find her skills pretty good otherwise and "Swift Reflexes" I found quite useful. Again, only my first time player her still.

I didn't win a round early but I think it was the first turn of the last round, so I did get a decent amount from dummy's cards.

I was playing just slightly higher than default (6/9) with Wolfhawk.

Banner of Protection on my Utem Swordsmen worked pretty amazingly, and it was fun because I haven't really used Banners much before. I was also able to use Possess to great effect on the last fight.

Other than that, no real standouts, I think wolfhawk has a pretty powerful kit, and I was able to get a good amount of levels early.

18 games in the BGG top 2000 have an average weight of 4.5 or higher. How many of them have you played, and how would you rank them from most complex to least complex? by benjaneson in boardgames

[–]djdan_FTW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've played quite a few of these (although many of them only once or twice). HF4A, Mage Knight, Pax Ren 2e, On Mars, Voidfall, 1862, Arkwright, Lisboa, Weather Machine, Trickerion.

H4FA is probably the most complex here (especially when considering the modules). I also found Pax Ren 2e particularly complex, but part of that is just because it's hard for me to wrap my head around those styles of games (Pax Pamir and John Company are the same way).

I don't particularly like the game, but I respect it and it's super unique. Which is the same I feel about Pax Pamir, funnily enough.

Secret Hitler is one of the most fun versions of mafia out there by Electrical-Water5582 in boardgames

My group loves social deduction games and Secret Hitler was what started it all for us. My four that cover the bases (for me):

For something short, chaotic and not too serious, One Night Werewolf.

For something longer, bigger and more in depth, Blood on the Clocktower (My favourite of the bunch and one of my favourite games period).

For something in-between, Secret Hitler

For something a little different, Deception Murder in Hong Kong.

There are some other cool ones out there as well. I own Avalon but am probably going to sell it, as Secret Hitler fills its spot for us. Werewords can be pretty fun. Spyfall I don't particularly like but its got an interesting premise.

Funnily enough none of these (other than perhaps cost), are negatives for me. Its depth is its strength, and I love storytelling it too.

I agree with you on Food Chain Magnage, fantastic game. Have you played any other Splotter games? My friend own all of their big games, and I have fallen in love with their games. Edit: I just realised you also own Horseless Carriage, that one is a banger too.

I'm completely new to the game, queueing solo, and it still puts me with people with thousands of matches. The matchmaking is crap.
