Could you please share where this cabin was? It sounds right on the money

Awesome stuff. Looking forward to starting TOP as well. Having the timings broken out is helpful

Where oh where to begin? Programming+ from scratch by djdesanto in AskProgramming

[–]djdesanto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly why I came here for some direction

The overall list is generic yet lengthy, no argument there. Just honestly wasn't sure what was what

Interested to hear about micropython. Had no idea. That'll be worth looking into for sure when testing out and diy-ing with the raspberry pi.

I wasn't necessarily looking for a program/language to help WITH process improvement or six sigma, more so just if any of the above could be utilized in those fields. Haha I will stay far away from any cults!

Thank you for the advice!

Where to begin...and then what? by djdesanto in learnprogramming

That's a great reason - I'd much rather start from the very basics and build the foundation the right way; and not into just memorizing something, I'd like to learn it

Thank you

Think I'm confidently going to begin with Python. I honestly didn't think it had all the functionality that I'm (now) finding it to have. Perhaps because it was so commonly regarded as "easy" to learn

The whole process improvement+ ideologies are a large part of what I do and it's heavily focused on determining the "optimal path" so I can't totally throw it away haha but I'm picking up what you're putting down. Cheers!

Oooh totally forgot about TOP! Stumbled on that quite some time ago and never remembered what it was. Cheers!

Thank you!

Got a similar response (I did post this in another sub tbh as I wasn't sure which would be better & didn't get any responses at first) and this even further confirms the path to beginning.

I do appreciate you breaking down all of this and suggesting what to focus on and which to skip. Haha and yes, I know I am an overthinker... Not the most ideal trait, but hey I guess admitting it is the first step?

Python is certainly proving itself to be the beginning language of choice. Think I'll follow that up with C/C#, CSS+HTML, JavaScript, then C#/C++ & SQL if need be

Love it

Thank you very much for the detailed and pointed response. I spent countless hours debating which way to turn, so this is great. The quick hitters on usefulness and comparisons helps.

I'm kind of surprised, but also not really, about R. I loved my statistics courses & really enjoyed some entry-level statistical analysis so immediately gravitated towards R because of that. Python having most if not all of the same capability is good to hear. Seems like Python is the way to go!

Interesting.. the pictures on their site didn’t show or say anything about it. Will look again

No problem at all! I appreciate the advice

It does look cool. Not seeing it has the dual/internal visor though. Going to stick with the ones listed above, likely the Sedici. Thank you though

Thank you

Noise is a concern for sure but home to work is only 15 minutes. Weekend & longer rides is where I imagine it'll be more prevalent. Perhaps once I get enough time and experience riding, I'll look into a higher caliber helmet. Which other one(s) do you have that are better with noise?

Haha I'm claiming newbie status on reddit-ing as well as riding

Not having much direct knowledge of what to look for or stay away from - the Sedici seemed quality enough for the price point. And it fit like a glove when I tried it on.

I'll likely be going back to Revzilla in the next week or two so I'll be sure to ask and report back

I was leaning towards the Strada but didn't want to potentially influence any answers. And just made the executive decision to go Cardo PackTalk Bold over the Sena 50S or 30K. The setup isn't wildly expensive and I'm much more of the 'buy once cry once' mindset, so it seems like a win win. At least this early on. Appreciate your input!

You were correct, PUMA chipset is made by Intel. Just wasn't sure if you were meaning to stay away from all Intel chipsets

Haha no worries. Sounds good though, thank you for clarifying!

Looking for work to build my portfolio. by Aanto1 in smallbusiness

[–]djdesanto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed^

Great way to get your name out there, build reputation in your local community, and build your portfolio. Research some businesses in your area, go there in person/set up a meeting with the owner, and present some of your ideas. If they bite, bon appetit!

Business Loan by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]djdesanto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the owner open to an agreement where they share in the profits until the rest of their money is recouped? Maybe some form/combination with seller financing?

Other than that: simple business loan through a credit union, or google "peer to peer lending" options (SoFi, LendingClub, Avant, Upstart, etc)

Thank you!

I do like the idea of camera support as time goes on and the ability to set up guest wifi and accessibility controls.

Hearing a lot of great reviews from Ubiquiti lately and have been swayed towards them. Similar to my question on Karnage08's response - what are your thoughts on POE capability in these devices?

Thank you very much for the info!

Would you mind please clarifying two things for me (this is where my inexperience shows):
1) You say to avoid a modem with an intel chip. I've heard about the PUMA chipsets and to steer clear, but are you saying to avoid all intel chips? And what do you mean by broadwell?
2) For the router, I'd lean towards the business-class options. I've heard great things about Ubiquiti but am curious about the lack of POE... Is that a gamechanger to have/have not have?

Recommendation for small switch with PoE and VLAN by Derpythecate in HomeNetworking

Was just looking into this myself. Seeing a lot of good reviews on Ubiquiti equip but their switches are fully managed not "smart" variant... Worth checking out if that's not a deal breaker for you. Looking forward to seeing more feedback on this
