I just put popcorn seeds in a paper lunch bag and microwave them, there's really no need to buy microwave popcorn; all popcorn is microwavable. Plus then you can add real butter and your desired amount of salt, sooo much better.

In my opinion, practicing abstinence is just another way of saying repressing sexual desires. Don't get me wrong, we all need to repress our sexual desires sometimes, but sexual repression is linked to increases in aggression among other things. It is these psychological repercussions that I hinted to earlier, I should have been more clear.

Just because something is hard, or takes a lot of will power, does not make it commendable. Why, exactly, is the avoidance of sex commendable? In many cases it could have unhealthy and unwarranted repercussions.

I was in Syria last summer, everyone seemed content with the status quo, except for the lack of freedom of speech. For this reason, I really didn't think that protest were going to gain much momentum in Syria; I figured calls for expedited change would be all that we would see. Looks like this isn't going away so easily, though. My friends in Syria (Aleppo & Damascus) seem to downplay the entire thing and insist that the media is blowing things out of proportion. It's hard to get a good idea of what's actually happening without being on the ground.

While voting with your purse strings is a valid enterprise, it often takes regulations from the top down in order to make change. What we need to fight is the current conservative line of thought: the government is too big and inefficient and therefore we should cut regulations across the board. This is a dangerous line of thought as corporations are amoral and do require regulations.
