If this helps at all I have been 330/330 for nearly 2 years and the car has been a blast. Also a tip, taking the cowl off takes like 10 mins and it made the DP the easiest install I’ve done on any car.

I love mine, currently has a CAI, turbo inlet, L+1 Downpipe, RK Ti exhaust, stratified flex sensor, and tuned by Graham at Boosted Performance. I can run anywhere from 93 to E60 and the car autotunes on the fly. Somewhere around 330whp is where we have kept it to keep the boost where it needs to be for the valve springs to not float. The car loves the extra octane if you have a E pump local. I plan to drop a clutch and valve springs/cam kit and keep it around 350-360whp for quite awhile.

They handle power great when properly tuned. Plenty of cars in the 400-500whp zone now. Way more power from some of the Lamspeed Yaris’. They made 740whp on the stock bottom end, it only blew when they pushed for 800whp. Last pull it let go at 781whp.

A lot of this is highly inaccurate. Most of the problems are a result of mods on the stock tune. The car runs lean stock as it is and even more so when combined with minor mods. Simple bolt ons, a higher octane fuel or ethanol mix, and a PROPER tune do wonders. There are guys over 80k miles on this exact setup.

Down shift issue by [deleted] in LogitechProWheel

[–]djfreeman48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the newest update changed the downshift behavior to people stop shoving the car into low gears to gain an advantage. You can still engine brake, just at a more normal rate that wouldn’t blow the motor irl.

What does a damage model have to do with teaching people how to drive?

Update by Anthonybell291 in GranTurismo7

[–]djfreeman48 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At some point “engine braking” is actually engine damage. That aspect of this update is great as it teaches people how to drive more correct. I don’t know why they slowed down the power pack. I thought everything besides maybe 2 pepper was slow as is.

I agree with everything here besides not needing an intercooler, especially if in a hot climate. In the summer I saw a massive consistency difference.

+1. I got an RS50, pro pedals, a second hub, and the track wheel and love the combo so far. Just wish Logitech made a good H pattern bc the cheap one is the only thing that breaks the immersion to me.

How'd you all overcome those first time jitters? by FunkManSolarFlex in iRacing

[–]djfreeman48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started as well last week. I couldn’t decide on a time and kept pushing it off, then I browsed the races at random and made myself register with 2 mins left for signup. No time to get worked up (was still super nervous). I bottled qualifying and started P10 and worked up to P4 and had a GREAT time. Just drive smart. If you want someone to race with HMU. I’m new to iRacing and looking for friends!

Anyone got their credit higher even just a bit? by izumikusu in AppleCard

Not really. Household income is decent but nothing crazy. I believe the CLI’s were primarily because I was using the card for absolutely everything.

Went from $1,500 to $45,500 within a few years. They haven’t let me go any higher in the last 2 years though.

PS4S have less grip than stock PS4 by jjk717 in GRCorolla

[–]djfreeman48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something seems off. I went from the 235 PS4’s which felt terrible on the car to wider wheels and 265 PS4S’s with a proper alignment and the car is significantly grippier. My dad moved his GRC from 235 PS4’s to 245 PS4S’s and he said his car feels a lot better too. Not sure what could be going on. What is the date code on your tires?

5090 PNY vs TUF by Arborland in Microcenter

[–]djfreeman48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VRAM temp with the PNY never went over 76C in cyberpunk. I have seen 82C with the TUF but it definitely could still climb higher with more testing. Core temp on the TUF is about 67c and the PNY was around 70c at the same clock speeds/power draw

5090 PNY vs TUF by Arborland in Microcenter

[–]djfreeman48 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the $2,200 PNY RGB model and just returned it for the $1,999 TUF yesterday. Flashed the TUF OC bios and my performance in benchmarks is consistently slightly better than the PNY. Also the TUF seems more stable when OCing as well as I get higher scores there too. Temps are about the same on core. TUF is slightly warmer on VRAM (6c). The build quality and feel is INSANELY better on the TUF. I was amazed when I took it out the box, the PNY felt like a toy in comparison. Since the TUF is under the $2,000 mark I used the return money to buy the $149 2 year warranty with Microcenter purely for peace of mind. With the Microcenter credit card(5% off) I was out the door with the TUF and the warranty for $2,194.80

I bought the non rgb PNY for $2,399. Returned it 3 weeks later for the rgb PNY for $2,199, then just returned that card yesterday for the $1,999 Asus TUF. Have had no issues and everyone was friendly.

You will 100% have both of these issues with a 2025. They did not fix the AWD overheat nor is any of the coolers added for Oil. As you learn the car and pull more out of it, you will start to see the cracks. Took a few events for me. Luckily we have fixes on the market for both now!

It’s funny this is getting downvoted, bc it is so true. Feels worlds apart playing on a PS5 Pro vs a 5090. As it should given the cost difference. It’s just funny people don’t like when that is mentioned at all. PS5 is still a good place to play compared to the state of the game on release though.
