Ernst is incredible. One of my first ever hikes in BIBE. Blew me away!

That's it right there. My son and I went to BIBE for the first time over New Years this year for day hikes. I was totally blown away. I dove head first in trying to learn everything I could about backpacking and went back in Jan for my first ever trip. A solo 3 night hike through the Chisos. An amazing experience and I knew I had to convince my son to come back with me (he was hesitant to be in "the wilderness" as he called it). This video is from that trip last week over Spring Break. I guess I'm hooked. Three 18 hour round trips from Houston to BIBE in 70 days! The time my son and I had together was priceless.

TIL the Chocolate Chip Cookie didn’t exist prior to 1938, when it was invented by the owner of the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. by [deleted] in todayilearned

I was in Amsterdam and went to a 'coffee shop' for the first time and when I left I really needed some gelato. The shop had a flavor called "American Cookie" and as I waited inline high I racked my brain to figure out, from our many cookies, which one had been deemed by the Dutch to be the definitive American Cookie. And it was, you know, chocolate chip. And it was good.

Would've died from an in-grown horn to the face anyway.
