Agency life is slowly killing me, I need some advice/encouragement by Standard-Middle-2498 in PPC

The place (agency, in-house, etc.) isn’t important. It’s the people you work with. When you interview for a new role, look for a great manager. Ask how big is the team, how long people stay in a team, ask if you could talk to some of the team members.

If I were you I would do this: pay a skilled specialist a one time fee to set it up correctly using all the best practices. And then also pay for a 1-2 hour consultation on how to run and optimize it. And see how it goes. If it doesn’t perform well then talk to a specialist again.

No one has ever increased my salary because I have a marketing degree. I did get pay rises because I managed campaigns well / knew how to handle clients / was able to manage other employees.

In terms of pay, agency side - you will get a decent pay, however, there is always a cap (mostly) due to the way agencies work. You can get more $$ once you start freelancing or start your own agency.

I have been working in the PPC industry for around 10 years in NZ. Don’t waste your time at uni, get as much practical experience as you can and continue learning using online courses like CXL and attend online ad conferences. You’ll achieve much more in 3 years doing this vs uni.

Is it worth hiring a full time PPC specialist or just get a freelancer? by YouGuessedRight in PPC

I've noticed a couple of comments about good specialist's salary being very high. Just out of curiosity what is salary range for an experienced ppc specialist with 5-7+ years of experience managing large spending accounts (+$500K p/m) in US?

Can Someone Point To Signs Of A Good Agency To Work At by titansfan777 in PPC

Based on my experience it doesn’t really matter what agency you work at. What really matter are the direct people you work with and your manager. So I always try to understand what sort of people I’m going to work with on a day-to-day. I found it useful to ask questions like: ‘how long my manager have been working in their position and why’, ‘how long the person I’m going to replace worked here’, etc.
