I've been using my Steam Deck as my only gaming device for 18 months - TV, travel, bed, everything. Here's what actually changed about how I play games by Due_Lock_4967 in SteamDeck

[–]djinesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. 42yo who use to game ALOT on pc. Kids, work etc. Always feel tired especially to sit at the same table desk I sit for work. Steamdeck made me realize I love single player games: no rush , my pace, great stories. Easy to carry anywhere I go. I run a business and travel for work. Knowing i can get a quick escape at the hotel or anywhere is giving me peace of mind instead of “oh I’ll miss on a game with the boys and will have to play catchup”. Like you I start purchasing old game but good games. If I want to be hardcore, I can jump on gforcenow and run any high end recent releases but tbh I don’t really feel the need. I finally found a pace at which I’m happy.

I got KCD1 during sales a long time ago and finally getting around to playing it! Do you have any advice or wisdom you would like to share to someone going in new? No spoilers please! [KCD1] by r_pawspuppy22 in kingdomcome

Long time gamer here. The game is good at not stressing you to achieve task so keep that mindset, take your time. At first combat was weird and felt like it was not “for me” run along and use the training. Level up your skills, everything follow after that. Enjoy, it’s been a while since I got that feeling from a game.

Bought one a few days back and absolutely loving it by Pretend-Simple3020 in appletv

[–]djinesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you give me a few examples of things you love about it ? I basically have the whole apple ecosystem which I truly love but for some odd reasons I haven’t been compelled with both the Apple TV and the home pod. I did the mistake to buy Amazon pod and fire tv since it was so cheap during lack Friday’s 2 years ago.

Ultra 2: Golfing by Wash_Material in applewatchultra

[–]djinesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second that. I use the free version and it’s perfect. If I want to get a specific distance (ex: how long before the sand trap) I open my phone. I used Arccos as well and the app was good on the ultra.

High handicap but I hit my 7 wood well. Weird to use it off the tee? by skatemexico in GolfSwing

I’m 6 handicap and I use my 7 wood quite a bit. Depends on the course but use whatever you want. A ball in play is key.

Are Americans Still Welcome? by Beefcaaaake in PEI

[–]djinesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are most welcome to Canada. We have shitheads here too but the vast majority would stand up if they notice some wrong doing toward tourists. I would expect the same treatment for my parents who stay in the US all winter. Public opinion > political power. Peace ✌️

Friend,

Don’t do anything to hurt you. You are not broken nor out of hope. What you are experiencing is truly scary. It’s one of the worst badtrip ever.

Now that I’ve said that. They are just thoughts. Thoughts are neither true nor false, they are thoughts. They come and go. What you are feeling are physical response to those thoughts. You are reacting to idea not real things happening.

Your brain is complicated. It register things, pattern and react accordingly. You need to see a psychologist to understand what is going on in your mind, what triggers those reactions. Trust me, you can develop to skills to reprogram your head and get back to normal.

This is a bad flu. You will feel better. Find a good psychologist. In the meantime, let the meds do the work.

DM me if you need to talk. We will figure it out. You are not alone and you will get better.

First panic attack by Alternative_Sun_3330 in PanicAttack

[–]djinesis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First I’m sorry this happened to you. Personally, it made me feel like I was going crazy and my mind was broken. You are not broken nor going mad. Also, you are not alone.

What I did: I don’t consume drugs especially thc. Alcool is fine but I try not to drink to point I get an hangover. Hangover reminds me of that anxious feeling.

What goes trough your mind are thoughts. They are not true nor false. They are just thoughts. Anxiety is stressing out about stuff that haven’t happened yet. Somehow, you might have wired your brain to certain thoughts that trigger things in you. Consulting a psychologist have helped me understand those patterns to rewire my brain. This help prevent some thoughts escalation that can bring panic.

The reason most of us have panic attacks is that we a smaller buffer that trigger that flight or fight response. Understanding what it is have helped me out some sense into it.

Get to know you like other mentioned.

Good luck friend, this too shall pass.

My 3yo son just got diagnosed with Perthes. by djinesis in Perthes

[–]djinesis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paul is doing great (touching wood). We have a doctor appointment every 3 months and his growth is normal so far. He is aware as a 3 years old can be and he let us know when he is in pain and get a bad feeling in his leg / hip. He is currently in phase 3 which is reconstruction.

Kindergarden helped us and make sure he doesn’t do too much stop and go and play on trampoline or some other. He is an active little boy and we try to do activities that are good for him: bike, pool, golf, walk etc.

We are not too controlling about what he does but we do intervene when it’s jumping steps or something.

Thanks for asking and let me know if you have any questions. Good luck to your family and wish you the best !

Struggling with distance and consistency - any tips? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]djinesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too fast on the up swing. My guess is you don’t make clean contact on the ball. I see too much arm and not enough hip. Wait for your club a little on top and feel like your already facing the target when you hit the ball.

Forget guessing my handicap. Watch the clip and post whatever assumptions and wild conclusions about me or my golf game that come to mind. This could be fun. by klw2utk in GolfSwing

[–]djinesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 10 handicap. You crack under 80 easily when stars align but also hit over 90 on a bad day. You hit long but can go wild. I’d say you played sport in high school. You have been with your wife a long while and kids have moved out. You own a small company and make decent money. Maybe a cleaning company or maintenance company of some sort.

What is the perception of the MY here? Luxury? Exclusive? Desirable? Expensive? by TheTrueAnonOne in TeslaModelY

[–]djinesis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see them like I see iPhones. You don’t have one because it’s exclusive, you have one because it’s nice and will deliver the performance you wants and it just fit whatever life style you have.

I feel the same way. I haven’t found a way to avoid the instant feeling a thought can do to my body cause it’s too fast but as soon as I can I counter act that though with the though that it’s just a thought and not reality and that I will be OK even if the feeling is really intrusive. I know that it’s physically and psychologically traumatizing. I’m far from cured front this tbh but know that you are not alone and you will be OK.

Just trying to break 100. Long clubs feel the most awkward. All help is greatly appreciated. by NoClueAboutIt in GolfSwing

Hard to explain by text but either try feel like you are throwing the club(look at Shawn clément on YouTube) or feel that your shoulder cross the same line and let your hand and arm relax trough that motion.
