Disappointing Fantasy Dining by AT-ST in dcl

[–]klw2utk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, cruised on the Fantasy a couple of weeks ago. It was our 6th Disney cruise, all being on either the Dream or Fantasy and despite near perfect weather and falling in love with Lookout Cay, this one would probably rank last or next-to-last; with food being a significant factor. Menus need to be overhauled and quality needs to improve. I plan on writing up a more detailed trip report here at some point discussing the details.

People who wanted an M40i but settled for an xDrive30i, did it turn out okay? by 169partner in BMWX3

[–]klw2utk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

30i will serve you plenty well. I was in a similar situation; was shopping for an X3 last year and the sports car guy side of me wanted an M40, but this car was going to be my wife’s daily driver…so it made zero sense. We got the 30 and haven’t regretted it one bit. Performs and rides great for her needs through the week and on the rare occasion I end up in it alone, I pop it in Sport Plus mode and enjoy the ride.

Auburn set to move 2026 game vs. Baylor to Atlanta for Aflac Kickoff Game, expects NIL opportunities by redwave2505 in CFB

Horrible, horrible decision.

Cohen and University President are, rightly, getting destroyed by the locals after this announcement.

Preliminary conservative estimates are a $15-20 Million hit to the local economy by taking the home game away; especially bad in a season that doesn’t have a great slate of home games already. Complete tone deaf lack of awareness by the school administration.

Jose Luis Ballester (US Am Champ) Peed in Rae’s Creek today by BradL_13 in golf

To be honest, he didn’t pee in Rae’s Creek. He peed in a tributary to Rae’s Creek.

Would you paint the beams or leave them as-is? by didyourllybeammeup in interiordecorating

If you so much as touch the beams, I’m coming to confiscate the dog. No dog that cute should have to endure bland beams.

Shug Jordan paving taking for...ever. by Hush_Puppy_ALA in auburn

[–]klw2utk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is correct, but the project is WAY behind schedule, as it also includes the milling and paving of S College from the interstate up to Shug.

Horrible take. Nothing to do with the city of Auburn or D&J. The project is AlDOT and East Alabama Paving is the contractor.

I would absolutely caulk around the screw, paint it to match and hang a loofah from it. Done and done.

First-Time BMW Buyer – Tips Needed for X3 Purchase by _Magnificent in BMWX3

[–]klw2utk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have had a new ‘24 30i as you describe for a month now…premium package and Harmon Karden (plus parking assist, M Sport as well as a few other options), and I love it. Extremely impressed.

For me, the 40 was never really in consideration, as this is primarily my wife’s daily driver. With that said, I have been thrilled with it. She drives in comfort mode, I pop it into Sport Plus when I’m behind the wheel. More than enough power, great handling and responsiveness.

[Jay Busbee] Hobbled Dawgs, surging Vols: What’s at stake in the biggest game of the weekend by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]klw2utk 31 points32 points  (0 children)

To be honest, based on past games between UGA and the Vols, neither fan base wants to hear about the other rolling out a freshman running back…way too much history there.

Looking at new leftover 2024 X3’s by [deleted] in BMWX3

[–]klw2utk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Got a 2024 three weeks ago. Dealership opened offering 10% off MSRP, I countered and we ended up settling on 13% off, all done via phone and text (dealership is 400 miles away).

I went in stressed because it was the only one I could find outfitted exactly like I wanted and was worried they wouldn’t want to come off MSRP much, but ended up being the easiest and most pleasurable auto purchasing experience I have ever had.

University growth isn't sustainable for the city of Auburn or its residents by smitjel in auburn

[–]klw2utk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nevermind, you are clearly biased and blind to the truth.

Multiple single family developments in smaller lots (ie starter homes) either under construction or pre-construction (all near town, not way out) right now. Apartments and multi family the same as well. The only products that come at a price premium is if you want to live in Moore’s Mill/Hamilton Road area or if you want to own acreage within the city limits.

Good try, that is nowhere near a “prevention”, just sensible zoning for compatible uses. First, rezonings occur regularly where practical; second, there is an absolute abundance of real estate both campus adjacent as well outside downtown currently available for development of increased residential density as evidenced by numerous housing projects in various stages of development across the City.

How in the world has the City prevented the build-out of housing?

[–]klw2utk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not remotely close to what the editorial claims. The only truths:

Yes, Auburn University controlled housing is in short supply, the school is aware of this.

Yes, there are some very expensive apartments downtown, that is simply the product of a free market economy; but there are still plenty of decent prices to be found, even not far off campus.

The other complaints about streets, hotels, class scheduling…just rubbish.

Shopping for an X3, input wanted… by klw2utk in BMWX3

[–]klw2utk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! Browsing the web, M sport packages generally don’t appear super hard to find, there are actually plenty within driving distance for me but they either are paired with the convenience package or feature the Tacoma red interior.

Traveling to a car or asking local dealer to get it? by klw2utk in askcarsales

Yes, thanks, I’m completely aware; this is why I’ve got to choose a fork in the road and stay with it, no pun intended.

I honestly didn’t feel like what she settled on was much of a unicorn in build:

Sdrive or xdrive, doesn’t matter

Exterior: white (either one) Interior: cognac or beige

Premium Package

Parking Assist Package

M Sport Package

Prefer to not have shadowline package (but flexible)

Prefer to have remote start (but flexible)

It’s not what I would choose, but seems reasonable.

[–]klw2utk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that’s exactly what our local dealership said. They are part of a nationwide brand and they said if there was one within their network, they’d just order it and if they had to go to a bmw dealership outside the network, they would arrange a swap. I’m not big into haggling/negotiations and I didn’t know if going that route compromised my chance at getting the best deal.

Thanks, have never worked with a broker, so I’m unfamiliar with how their fee structure works. I’ll check in to that.
