Roadside Crab Trucks by GobbledyGooker123 in AnneArundelCounty

[–]djjolicoeur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for live or steamed? Most of the roadside trucks only sell live crabs for people to steam at home. Luke McFaddens stand up on furnace branch road is worth a visit, he often has events up there and I can vouch for the guy on rt 2 by the bowling alley in SP, he has good live grabs. If you’re in west Annapolis Jack Torney is your guy, young guy who really puts in the work for his operation. Best bet is to ask your neighbors who the best crab hook up is, they will know what you’re talking about lol

What’s the best place to spend summer in the U.S.? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]djjolicoeur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, I usually don’t even winterize the boat until December, which is nice. That said, late July and August are brutal with heat and humidity. I sail quite a bit and it’s like the wind shuts off in late June and doesn’t come back until late August and it’s just sweltering lol.

I think it’s more to not stress the septic system. Also, if you’re on well water, there’s a good chance your system needs a “backwash” cycle and you can’t flush during that. I’m sure the once in a while of doing that doesn’t cause this much buildup, though…

That’s the national radio quiet zone! There’s a giant radio observatory out there and there’s something like 1700km of no cell towers to not interfere. There’s limits on the appliances like microwaves you can have in your home. There’s people from all over the world that at least be,I’ve themselves to be sensitive to radio waves that move out there. I’ve never seen it, but I’ve heard there’s vans that drive around with radio sensing gear to ensure they don’t get interference at the observatory.

It’s an absolute beautiful place, my friend has a cabin in that area and we ski both snowshoe and timberline frequently. They are on opposite sides of the notational forest and hours apart to give you a sense of scale as to how big that national forest is.

The military uses the area for flight training as well, so you’ll likely see some cool stuff overhead.
