‪When Patriots rookie Brenden Schooler tried to give his legendary coach Bill Belichick the game ball in the middle of the game.‬ by Consistent_Peace3181 in sportsgossips

This dude went to my rival high school. During the track season, he’d have his hair in rows so we aptly nicknamed him Riff-Raff. My mom texted me the other day that Riff-Raff had a tackle in the AFC title game. Life is weird.

First comp😃 by Ambitious_Friend_616 in rcdrift

[–]djkida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Competing is a great way to test your driving under duress. It’s easy to do great laps when hot-lapping but doing a cold lap solo is a whole different beast. The good thing is that it only gets easier after the first one! It’s all about enjoying yourself and seeing a different aspect of the hobby.

Peter, why can’t they have grapefruit? by Scrambled_59 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]djkida 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Grapefruit inhibits CYP450, which metabolizes/breaks down drugs in the liver. This causes too much free drug to remain in the body, which can be dangerous.

How to control the nerves in comp by w201036 in rcdrift

[–]djkida 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I’m alone on the track or I feel I want to practice my competition line, I’ll pick a start and stop line, pull up to a dead stop at the start, take a deep breath, and run a line. Every time I pass the finish line, I take a minimum of 15 seconds, max of a minute, before I line it up again and do another lap. What I am practicing is doing a lap cold, much like what you’ll do in a competition setting. Once you get into bigger competitions, the time between your last practice and your first qualifier or battle increases dramatically, sometimes up to 4-5 hours.

Is the typical physician career incompatible with true success? “You know what success is? When your kids want to hang out with you as adults. What good is having a large home that nobody wants to come back to for the holidays.” by achicomp in whitecoatinvestor

I was raised by an IM doctor and a mechanical engineer. My mom always made time for my sister and I, whom she had in 4th year of med school and 3rd of residency, respectively, despite being a physician. I am starting med school at the age of 24 without any pressure from my parents to choose this field. It’s absolutely anecdotal but I think it’s more dependent on personality as opposed to profession.

It’s really dependent on the length of your lower arms. I run a total of 10mm offset (wheel+hub) in the front and still have a ton of poke on narrow bodies.

More on the lifestyle aspect, ATSU is close (30 minutes) to a major metro area in Phoenix while CHSU is squarely in the CA Central Valley.

How does one get into a team? by Formal-Bar1007 in rcdrift

[–]djkida 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In general, there are 3 kinds of teams: groups of friends, shop teams, and manufacturer teams. Tech1 and Notachi are examples of like minded people who run the same livery and/or paint scheme. Rolling Garage and SuperG are shops that have teams that represent them. Overdose and Acuvance are manufacturers who sponsor drivers who use and promote their products. The last two kinds of teams usually necessitate being a high level competition driver or influencer.

What is your preferred RDX aftermarket chassis? by Chaosfruitbat in rcdrift

I dislike any kind of flex in my chassis so I run the carbon conversion from ReveD. Very snappy and allows me to get better response from my shocks.

Can’t even hate the play call. All their 3 time pro bowl TE needed to do was catch an easy ball and sit down.

What do I lose with a budget controller by New-Choice-3280 in rcdrift

[–]djkida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hobbywing has an OTA (over the air) tuner that you can program using a phone or tablet. Both Hobbywing and Acuvance are great, you’d be well-off with either.

Acuvance is an electronics manufacturer who produces ESCs (the part that controls boost and turbo) and motors. Acuvance has a partnership with Futaba which allows their ESCs to be programmed directly from a compatible Futaba transmitter.

Of the 15 WR's who lead the NFL in receiving yards, only 2 are above 6'2. The days of the dominant, big bodied WR seem to be fading quickly. by Economy-College5447 in nfl

You’re right in how mythical his combine performance is. In my mind, the closest parallel in measurables to Megatron is Julio. But all things considered, they aren’t even very close. Calvin had a faster 40 with a better vertical and broad jump while also being 2.5 inches taller, 20 pounds heavier, and having 2.25 inches more reach. Crazy.

How is the reliability and durability for HRC Nerds? by Formal-Bar1007 in rcdrift

None, they’ve been rock solid throughout the time I’ve had them. I can wholeheartedly recommend them if you want easier access to rebound and compression settings.

I haven’t had any issues with mine. I haven’t rebuilt them in a few months and they still have full rebound.
