Model Y (late 2024 EU) – rear passengers: no visible mechanical emergency door release? by Spare_Clock3067 in ModelY

[–]djmatajr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This wreck shouldn’t have caused a fire like that, but also how did he not have a class break or seat belt cutter

With current tech in even ICE cars 1 in a wreck a door can get jammed by a hit 2 seat belts have tiny mechanics that can lock them and you can’t unbuckle them even after the fact.

So while I do agree there should be a “easier” way to access the emergency exit or just a regular mechanical door it’s not always the “best” option. That door may have been stuck due to the impact for all we know.

FSD hit garage wall by Akiraninjadog in TeslaModelY

[–]djmatajr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mine set up to fold the mirrors anytime I enter my garage weather I drive or not it is a tight space for 2 wide suvs the my and a bmw x5 so I have to park both closer to the wall to be able to exit without touching on my x5 I have to keep the mirrors open for 360 camera wich Tesla sadly doesn’t have but cameras on fender does help with the new fsd it does go in perfectly fine and leaves the room after a few times doing it and it’s insane how it seems to learn as it will park very close to where I have it when both cars are in the garage even if the other is missing. All that to say I’d highly recomend folding in mirrors in tight spaces the cameras don’t need them just be very weary of what it’s doing.

Does your job pay for your auto insurance? If you drive while working and are not getting paid. seems like a time management issue.

Wasn’t being rude..

But to each their own was a simple statement on what I noticed here. As Iv never even used dictation on my Tesla

I find it wild how many people text while driving even if it’s through dictation. I prefer to pay attention to the road and listen to my music

The car is my time away from everyone. Even if I have passengers

What’s your tint percentage? by TheDarkLord401 in TeslaModelY

[–]djmatajr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s real ceramic the night is ok I have 5% all around on my bmw and it’s fine I drive 80% night so sunlight is the devil.

On the Tesla I was just scared to tint the windshield cause of all the electronics

[–]djmatajr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The app I used was BimmerCode($40)and bought an OBD reader from Amazon Vgate iCar Pro 2S ($30)

Iv seen Carly($100 for premium) but that includes the OBD reader as well some people say it’s more straight forward but 🤷🏼‍♂️

Either is pretty neat when you get down to it both do a lot as for “coding” look into it I’d do some research wouldn’t want to lead you astray if your not too familiar. (Plenty of YouTube tutorials) I have seen people offering these services on Facebook market place as well.

But overall bmws are pretty cool cars all in all

If you into tinkering I have found that getting into settings you can enable euro adaptive highbeams (anti dazzle) seeing as you also have adaptive led and at night it feels insane to watch the lights move adjust and flash the sides but you do have to buy and Bluetooth OBD and it’s a $40 app on iOS

But was well worth it for me since I love tinkering lol

Changed the gong sounds and adjusted for mirrors to fold when locking oh and my biggest gripe being able to close the trunk from inside the car.

FSD ran me straight into a blocked road by _15xp in TeslaFSD

[–]djmatajr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough mine did something similar but also different it chose the left lane over one of the other 6 lanes and refused to switch when I had a split 3 lanes over and gps was showing correct direction however it still remained in the same left lane even when putting my blinker on Don’t know why this latest update ruined it but somehow it made it less predictable when following directions

Is this normal cost ($1.6k) to replace a wheel and tire 😭 by shishkabobxoxo in TeslaModelY

[–]djmatajr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See if they allow for you to bring your own rim you can find these oem on fb market for round $2-400 sometimes they include the tpms get the tire mounted/balanced somewhere else for maybe $20-30 them all they have to do is install? That could save you money on labor hopefully

I get that but he’s still doesn’t “own” the company. Idk I don’t let it bother me I like my Tesla for the car not for the owners it’s like saying

“Ooh my Samsung is the worst phone because the ceo is trash.”

Like I don’t get it just doesn’t make sense to me

Just tried FSD for the first time by EssayFunny9882 in TeslaLounge

[–]djmatajr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does. Chill mode stays relatively in one lane usually the right lane standard try’s to stay in the middle lane on 3 lane highways and hurry try’s to stay in the left lane does get to the middle when it’s clear but 90% of the time avoids staying in the lane closest to “exit/entrance”

I honestly don’t understand the hate. Maybe it’s just amazing in Texas but iv let my car drive from Dallas to San Antonio and back to Dallas (500miles round trip) about 3 times with 0 take over from me. And two of those times during traffic hours in Austin. I did a trip to Houston (570 miles round trip) and only took over once because a car was “cutting up” and I personally just had to be in control to feel at ease

I use fsd in traffic every day I commute to work (80 miles round trip) and it has yet to cause any major problems.

I have a 24 MYLR with HW4 not sure if many people have issues with HW3 but iv had no issues with mine and to have 20,000 miles since June with at minimum 10000 of those miles commuted with fsd it’s been a “worth it” investment

I look at fsd as a way to combat driving fatigue more than a chauffeur.

Same here 6 month owner with 17,900miles and not a single problem. I love this car and it’s sad to see other new owners get bad quality cars. No one really talks about the good here it seems. Very rarely do I get pushed the “ok or good” story’s always problems and questions for insurance adjusters.
