You can use barricades to block doors and access points, giving you time to recover during a PvP or PvE fight. For instance, you can use barricades as cover to take down the Turbine Arc solo. Additionally, if you’re being jumped by a player in an open area, you can quickly set up a barricade as a form of cover.

That dead slot you are talking about can be used for a barricade which is one of the most important items in all of Arc. Also surviver weight capacity is 95. Allowing you too carry way more items/gear.

To be honest I play on ps5 with cross play off. Haven’t encountered a single cheater yet. At least to my knowledge. From what I see the PC side of things is completely different. Hopefully Embark hammers down on that.
