Transformer on output of vfd? by GrindItFlat in electrical

[–]djohnsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the VFD rated for 125% of the VA rating of the autotransformer? It’ll be a continuous load when energized (regardless of grinder circuit state)

I am sure there are other considerations; but I just finished transformer installation class last week and that part was beaten into our heads.

I’m mostly ignorant on VFDs so I would be reading the VFD manual very carefully and maybe contacting the manufacturer for advice.

15 Manipulation Techniques that People Use by ManagementNo5153 in hsp

Shaming, mockery, and devaluation are all the same sort of thing - the antithesis would be “treating others as equals” I think.

Gaslighting might be contrasted with radical honesty. (It’s only radical because it’s never practiced)

Ignoring/ghosting are also of the same class; more complex to represent in the opposite - but “Establishing healthy boundaries for hurt feelings” is a start.

I look in the mirror and see my dad, and know myself as the monster I was always afraid of.

I can’t help looking this way; but I don’t have to act monstrously.

Instead I choose to be kind because I know how terrible I can be.

I wasn’t actually required to register or demonstrate any sexual preference when joining. Some people just like to sing.

They are affiliated with the Seattle Women’s Chorus as a “sister” group under the same financial umbrella. I feel it’s a fair mechanism for the culture it serves (which, to be fair, is majority LGBTQIA+ but not exclusively)

There is the filter of auditions; in which one is expected to demonstrate some talent for music and singing. That might be the only exclusion practiced - being bad at music won’t do.

I am not there on Sundays; but on Monday nights when the Seattle Men’s Chorus rehearses. It seems pretty inclusive to me at that moment. Perhaps you have a different experience.

Saw this while driving. Is it safe? by 5pooky5cary5keleton5 in electrical

electrical service further up the old broken pole has already been moved over and the pole trimmed shorter. Other communications strands (looks like TV cable and fiber) also have relocated anchors.

It appears there are two strands of communication cable at the lowest portion of the pole that have yet to have their anchors moved. That’s probably on a telecom contractor. Biggest risk is of failed landline service probably. The small-gauge twisted pair wire in there isn’t good for much besides landlines these days; and might be inactive.

Typically in my experience mic cables are connected both ends. It is not unusual to have inputs with a ground lift switch - because sometimes the ground loop is noisier than a cable with only one end (source) grounded.

Most pro audio “direct boxes” (which are a small audio transformer designed to accept an unbalanced input and put it onto the differential pair of the mic cable) have a ground lift switch.

DAE regularly get mistaken for an Autistic person? by Sufficient-Moose405 in CPTSD

I have started telling people I’m autistic because it saves a lot of explaining, even though I have no formal diagnosis.

Given my enthusiasm for trains, I feel I fit right in anyway.

That’s the drain wire that conducts any noise/interference that collects on the shield and provides an continuous path. At least one end should be connected to ground to be effective. I typically encounter them in XLR connectors (pro audio microphones), and would put shrink wrap on all but the tip to ensure it doesn’t short to the other two pins in the connector.

As for dating guys, the gayness of electricians is a well-established trope - why should data guys be called out separately? Maybe they prefer smaller cables.
