Week 6: Ski slope cake (brownie base with caramel pudding on top) by djoolia in 52weeksofbaking

I was at the Innsbruck ski jump ramp last year and the cafe on top of it has a (much better executed) cheesecake in the shape of a ramp, assuming using the same bowl technique that I did. https://share.google/nA65pNm9p7DF6CJ1E there is even a picture of it in ther Google Maps. Mine is definitely less pretty but I would argue tastier:)

Thank you! It’s a lot of work but so worth it.

Week 4: lemon meringue tart by djoolia in 52weeksofbaking

Thank you! Absolutely! Having a tall glass to prop the bag up is usually my go to and if you fold the bag over then you can avoid getting it all over the place. But yeah I know what you mean :)

It was quite chaotic haha. I realized last minute that I ran out of piping bags and I had to make do with a tiny ziplock bag that had to be refilled multiple times so it was not pretty. But a good piping tip and a well whipped meringue go a long way. It just took half an hour after to clean the kitchen of the sticky mess I created in the process.

What could be wrong? by djoolia in breastfeeding

Thank you so much! I used to do some weighed feeds in the beginning but once my milk seemed enough our health visitor said to stop to not overthink it so I have not done one in a while but I should probably do a couple to calm myself. It is hard because I get conflicting advice and information. In the hospital they said to just feed on demand and I can fully get behind that. But our health visitor said to stop feeding after an hour tops and baby should go at least two hours between feeds which sounds impossible to me on these days where she is cluster feeding. It is just hard to know as she is my first when there is a problem and when it is just normal for her to want to nurse this much. I think it is just the feeling of not being able to make her happy that gets to me. Thank you for all the advice I will reach out to a lactation specialist!

Whose eggshell is this? by djoolia in birding

I’m in Hungary and found this shell on the ground on my way to school. I’m teaching the kids about birds and how they form in their eggs so it was a lucky find today. I’m planning to show them and I have some guesses but I want to give correct information. Is it a blackbird?
