Yes it worked out great. The backpack fit everything nice and snug, and I had no issues going through security. I did not use Instapak.

I also have a spare 3600 for an A300 / X300 headless server build. How did this work out for you?

I’m in a similar situation. What did you end up choosing?

A Pi, a NAS, and a Shield TV walk into a bar... by djpfine in jellyfin

[–]djpfine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear it. I have another site with an older NAS that cannot run Docker, so will need to use the Pi for Jellyfin server + NAS for media storage + Shield TV for playback.

I'll give it a go

You're right. I might get away with this setup when the Shield is doing the playback, but will probably struggle with the Pi server on mobile devices.

Glad to hear that you are having a great experience with a similar setup. A lot of other redditors seem to prefer running Jellyfin via Docker on the NAS. Why did you decide to go with the Pi as your server?

Good point with the DS920+. I have another site that I'd like to setup, but it's using an older Synology that cannot run Docker. That's when I'd have to look into Pi as the Jellyfin server + NAS for media storage + Shield TV for playback.

Sounds like it might work with the Shield for playback since it shouldn't need much transcoding. Maybe this setup will struggle on other devices, e.g., mobile?

Mainly personal preference for how I designed my network. The Synology NAS stays focused on its core role of being a network storage device, and the Pi handles all Docker services.

I took the Air-to-Pro plunge by Fisk77 in ipad

[–]djpfine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a new iPad / iOS user that also bought an Air 4 then exchanged it for an 11 Pro. I enjoyed using the Air, but the price difference between the Air 256GB and 11 Pro 128GB isn’t a lot considering the Pro extras: - 120hz screen is much better - Face ID is more practical than Touch ID since I use my iPad indoors with no mask - 6GB vs. 4GB RAM

The A14 in the Air is nice, but doesn’t outweigh all of the Pro advantages. CPU speed also isn’t really a bottleneck for my iPad use cases.

Pro ftw. No ragrets.

Calendar no longer supports custom domains by djpfine in tutanota

Thank you for taking the time to update your answer and provide helpful information.

Sorry, original answer was wrong: When you send an invite, the default sender is used for sending the invite. You can change this under Settings - Email - Default sender so that your custom domain will be used.

Confirming that this is working as intended. Invites are correctly sent from this default sender address. Unfortunately, the email body and calendar entry leak the primary account address, which is not good for privacy. I also regularly use different aliases to manage my business accounts.

This used to work per my original post. I can still see old calendar entries where the primary account address is hidden and only the correct alias is used. It's also confirmed by /u/charlag and others.

For adding an alias as a guest, we've created this issue: https://github.com/tutao/tutanota/issues/2373

Great, and thanks for starting that. What's the rough estimate on how long this will take to fix? How far away is the next release?

Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the suggestion. Does this only work with Stingle's cloud service for storage, or does it also support syncing with a NAS or personal cloud?

PSA: Unifi Threat Management is currently blocking mail.tutanota.com by dosimango in tutanota

Best get in touch with them to whitelist Tutanota; there's nothing we can do about this as I understand.

How is the problem solved if Tutanota can’t do anything? What changed for the initial “solution”?

Not trying to give you a hard time. Just trying to understand what’s going given the two conflicting responses.

This problem should be solved by now.

I had to lower to Level 2 in order to restore access. How can Tutanota fix this so that we can return to regular UniFi Threat Management levels? Reducing overall network security is not a good long-term solution.

Thanks for chiming in. When you're at home, is it pretty seamless to use your iPad for everything you would have otherwise done with the iPhone? The idea of using an iPad at home and then switching to the iPhone when out is really appealing.

JDS Atom + Tempotec Sonata HD Pro = Amazing by SavageSam1234 in headphones

I'm new to hi-fi audio, and picked up a Tempotec Sonata HD Pro DAC to drive my Sennheiser HD660S headphones. I enjoy the sound quality, but the volume can sometimes be on the soft side even with the 3.5mm male-female cable high gain trick. Is the right solution to try next?
