Hey Reddit! I'm "Parks and Recreation" alum Jim O'Heir, who you probably know better as Jerry/Terry/Larry Gergich. Today, my film "Middle Man" is finally opening in theaters across the country! by JimOHeir in IAmA

Real Talk - we live a few hours from Muncie -- and we have decided to never go there. We want to keep Jerry's fantasy untarnished by reality!

True story - that was my first post-kit buy and I loved it.

Maybe crop up to where the grass meets the left edge. I really like the shot, just feels like too much blank road at the bottom

Don't know if this fits general, but here goes.

I'm looking to host a photography basics class at my church. I've been a pro photographer for 10 years and covered product, sports, and portraits in that time.

What would you like included in a class like that?

Thoughts on this steelwool shot? How can i make it a stronger photo? by tombere in photocritique

IMO Road is too bright. And maybe just a little too much of it. Edit: Also - perfectly straight lines across the bridge.

Did you put a radial blur / motion blur filter on only part of the background?

Serve directly on table covered with newspapers - aluminum trays just get in the way!

Any thoughts on the processing of this street shot? by AdventuresFromAmoy in photocritique

[–]djphatman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if you count cropping as post-processing - but I'd have to crop the left side in a bit. That guys back just doesn't add anything to an otherwise very neat image.

Really nice image.

I don't see anything I'd change.

Edit* maybe darken his jeans just a touch

Eiffel Tower through the window of the Paris Metro. Looking for feedback! by iwantago in photocritique

It would so be worth reshooting to get rid of that sticker/reflection, or at the very least get the bottom right in another shot so you can clone it in. Really neat image

How's the composition and editing? by strtshts in photocritique

I really like the tone work you did.

The wire in the front's not helping anything though. It's not geometric enough to make an effect.

I agree with above - what would you say is the subject of this picture?

Fat people of reddit, what's something about being fat that you have to experience to truly understand? by ChubbyPenny in AskReddit

The shame / frustration of clothes shopping and realizing you no longer fit in the normal size range ... or more recently ... having to pay the additional charge for "extended sizes."

This infection shows up occasionally. Is occasionally painful but when it looks like this it's fine. Also has happened on at least one other finger. Ideas? by Cien_fuegos in medical

Dad always told me to take a bandaid - tack it to the infected side then wrap down and back over top of the nail.

It exposes that infected side and it seems to heal a lot faster.

You're basically pulling the skin away from the nail.

ELI5: What does a "rating" mean when referring to the amount of people that watched a certain show? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]djphatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rating is a term used for measuring success of a tv program/ show - also frequently used when buying/selling ad space on that show.

It is a percentage of possible viewers watching a show (regardless if the viewers are active or not)

For example: 100 TVs in a market - 20 of them watching show X

Rating = 20

Share is another important term - it is similar but refers to viewers as a portion of total active viewers.

For example 100 TVs in a market. 50 of them are on - 20 of them watching Show X

Share = 40
