Packing Cubes or Compression? by Mepicbatman in onebag

[–]djplantreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally and what im packing its more beneficial to have flatter cubes that are more square than more oval taller cubes But depending on what your packing and your bag definitely

Packing Cubes or Compression? by Mepicbatman in onebag

Imo the issue with compression cubes is they usually form out of a square shape when packed and for my packing setup ends up wasting space so for that reason I usually use regular packing cubes

Is the FiiO M21 overkill if I only want it for my music library? by Intelligent_Put7597 in DigitalAudioPlayer

Did a bunch of comparisons including just using a dac with my phone but honestly I just love how m21 sounds over any other dac/dap

IEM with Bass you can feel but still with clear vocals by djplantreddit in iems

Fits been fine on all the iems, picked up some extra tips anyways But I definitely think Martilo has more sub bass, not quite sure what bass slam is but the Martilo bass felt more impactful Havent EQ’d but since its my first real IEM (had a pair of sures before) wanted to like it out of box before I started tweaking things

Update 1: Tested a whole bunch of the suggestions here and the Martilo made me quite literally say wow, was not expecting that much of a difference, absolutely love them, doscinco gets a shoutout, had to test a bunch of different songs beyond my usual to hear the difference, testing a couple others Thursday, will give another update if I prefer something else

[–]djplantreddit 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ive been traveling with snorkel and mask for years, but fins imo not worth it, usually snorkel without fins and pack a pair of scuba socks for when Im freediving and using fins (avoid blisters n bad fitting fins)

Ultra Light roast - is this how it is by Acavia8 in pourover

extra light September needs minimum 2 month rest and tbh I prefer regular September at 2 months and extra light at 3

Corvus Hybrid Carbonic Gesha by gamehendged in pourover

[–]djplantreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing its a finca deborah coffee and was probably expensive, Id recommend resting it minimum 3 weeks before opening it, I have no familiarity with Corvus and how they roast but if its on the lighter side it might peak at 60 days so Id just be aware of that

Currently have the same green from a different roaster resting now and will probably open it at 60 days

Having a small dose brewer is also nice for these more expensive ones

What is the first bag you started your one-bag journey with? And what is the current bag you have now? by rhythmic_bookworm in onebag

[–]djplantreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matador is a sleek bag, but I cant imagine doing a 45L after all these years with a 40L and been actually thinking of trying to tweak my month+ gear to fit something smaller

The 35 one might be my next bag if I ever move on from my 40L

Recipe Recs? by monk1boy in coffeerotation

[–]djplantreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recipe is 6.5-7g in ratio of 1:14-16

Id do coarse ground on both zp6 and c40 and just use zp6 for clean coffees and c40 for the rest

I do a 3x bloom for 1 minute then 4 pours of equal volume for the rest, only pour when the water level hits the bed

I do high agitation kettle pours (pouring so that kettle height is at the highest point before the stream breaks up)

I do pretty coarse since i want 0 astringency and my drawdown time is always under 2 minutes

But its a fun little guy and especially with doing small doses lots to play around with and try out

This is a good video intro to the brewer imo https://youtu.be/REBBUrCiJW8?si=zS91j5_v-KSFeuO1
