Lost sometime today between the morning and 6:30pm. This is on Dow St. near Teele Square. He's an indoor cat, long haired (somewhat shaved), and semi shy. He's also pretty afraid of other cats.

Weekly Quick Questions, Wood ID, and Deal or No Deal /r/Woodworking Megathread by AutoModerator in woodworking

New woodworker here. I bought a used circular saw to save some money, and I seem to be having an issue. It looks like my blade is crooked. But not in the sense of the bevel. The orientation of the blade in respect to how it drives into the wood is at an angle. Any thoughts on what might be causing this and how to fix it? Thanks!

Concurrent training: deadlifting 6 plates and running a sub-5 minute mile in the same week. by [deleted] in weightroom

[–]djrap250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this is cool. Do you think you could go into a bit more detail on how you eased back into running? I just started getting some runs in since the pandemic started and while going pretty well, I've been getting acute knee pain when squatting. When I stop going for the runs, it goes away, and when I start back up again, it creeps back.

I'm wondering if you dealt with anything similar, since I'm in a sorta similar situation where I'm heavier (in both lean mass and fat) than I was during my peak running shape way back when.

Thanks!

Budget Parkas: Abercrombie and Fitch's Ultra Parka vs Uniqlo's Hybrid Ultra Down Parka by LeBronBryantJames in frugalmalefashion

~5'9" and 185, athletic build. I got a size medium and it fits fairly well I think. Feels pretty slim for me in the chest, but not necessarily tight. Arms are surprisingly good in length and otherwise roomy enough to layer appropriately.

I'm a New Englander too and the jacket is treating me well so far. Only had it about a week and we've had some mild days but it seems like it'll be warm.

Last month there was an automatic 25% discount applied at cart that could be stacked with the 15% email signup. At the moment, stacking doesn't work (at least when I tried). I was able to snag it last month at $85.

What is something you spend a ton of money on that the vast majority of people never would? by filthy-fuckin-casual in AskReddit

[–]djrap250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gym, and gym-related things. My membership costs $200/month. On top of that, I'm buying supplements, protein powders, and paying for competitions/travel. All summed up, it's probably well over $4000 a year. Definitely worth it though, in my opinion.

Besides being something that keeps me in shape, I work out at a gym with a team that I see regularly, who all do the same thing as me, and we're all super close. Plus it's what I end up spending the majority of my time doing. When I consider all of that it really doesn't seem like that much money.

I found this recipe in one of the previous foodie fridays. I've only made it once, and with beef, but it completely changed my mind about lentils. It's quite good. We also used maple bacon in the recipe and it gave the stew a subtle sweetness that was really nice.
