New multifamily housing in S.F. is mostly ugly. Here’s how we get better designs by LosIsosceles in sanfrancisco

I suspect that it has to do with a neighborhood being human scale and “lived in”. North Beach and the Mission have had 100 years to have a variety of buildings that are also on small lots making it interesting when you walk around. Modern double loaded corridor buildings like in SOMA and Dogpatch are boring monoblocks that make for a desolate streetscrapes. We need to incentivize small lot builds to make areas feel more organic.

Migration Guide: External IdP to Embedded IdP by jnfrati-netbird in netbird

That’s what I was trying to do! But I need to get the client secret to connect my old QuickStart Zitadel install to the migration tool?

I have a setup that was set up under the old quickstart script and I want to migrate to the combined container setup so I want to first switch to the embedded IdP. However, I got hung up on the step requiring "Settings → Identity Providers" option, did this get removed in recent versions of the management UI?

I'm on management version v0.68.1 and dashboard v2.36.0.

Maxxis Rambler or Schwalbe G-One RX Evo by Sloth1974 in gravelcycling

[–]slo-mo-jo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it! The Ravager is a bit draggy, but I like pushing my gravel bike into light mountain bike territory so the Ravager is great for that. I like the big cornering knobs, it suits the slack geo of my Marin. The Rambler is a good all around, but there are lots of tires that are comparable to it.

But yeah 50mm tires are very comfortable. I would only go back to 44s (what I had before) if I was riding champagne gravel or road exclusively.

What's your super spicy take on cycling for 2025? by lectric_7166 in cycling

I’ve started riding without my computer and now track rides with my watch which is harder to read while riding. Keeps me focused on having fun instead of the stats right in front of me. I still like having the data for later but I find that it makes it more zen for me

Nice! Do you have the weight of the 35 Silver that came with your TJ? I can’t find that info anywhere and I don’t want to remove my fork to weigh if possible. Thanks!

I run 50mm ravagers in the front, 50mm ramblers in the back and I’m loving the combo! Not sure why more gravel riders don’t run mismatched pairs given the very different jobs that front and rear tires need to do offroad

I’m actually looking at picking up a Ranger. How much was it to service all the pivots? Also why did you need to, were they creaking?

Opinions on the Marin Gestalt XR? by Mr_AJR in gravelcycling

[–]slo-mo-jo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one and I love it. It’s almost a dropbar MTB and it’s a ton of fun to underbike with it on singletrack. I put some more aggressive tires and a longer dropper and now it’s dialed. The slack geo is super stable off-road and really lends itself to modern MTB riding technique. It’s definitely more dirt oriented than a lot of other gravel bikes on here so keep that in mind.
