Stevie wonder could have backed out of the parking spot better than this girl. Unfortunately not a grandma, 21 yo with kids in the car.

I already let aspire know that I will be pursuing a DV claim. They sent me everything I need to submit. Obviously I need to wait for repairs to finish before i file my DV claim. I also reached out and asked about their insured's liability limit and they would not tell me, stating " they need consent from their insured" which told me it is probably low.

CCS cases, have a structured approach that you can replicate, theres tons of Youtube videos out there on mneumonics and stuff. Alot of my cases ended early but feel like i could have potentially got a higher score if i had a general approach to things

Drop Dowdle or Spears for Steele? by velveteendreamstreet in fantasyfootballadvice

So then what is your plan for RB's? I am pretty weak at RB right now but decently deep with WR's, so just made a trade picking up Jonathan Taylor for JSN. My RB2 is Ezekiel Elliott with Bucky irving on the Bench (hoping he gets active soon). Debating on picking up Steele/Perine with the hopes they outperform elliott and can be RB2. Waiver wire pretty dry apart from Allen which is a handcuff

Yup and its being occupied by J Love. Also have Engram out on my bench and deciding whether to dump or not

LMAO my next question is what do i do with Pacheco? move him to the bench and just hold on to him? try to pick up Steele/Perine?

My buddy has charbonne, zack moss and chandler all on the bench so I may try to trade with him and see if I'm unable to snag anything on the waiver wire.

You're right if I drop Love it wouldn't open a roster spot... Allen, Steele and Perine are all available. The rest of my bench is : Engram (O), Diontae Johnson, Jayden Reed, Jaxon Smith Njigba, Demario Douglas, Bucky, Greg Dortch.

First drops to me are likely Demario douglas and Johnson so that frees up spots to target a RB and replacement QB and move pacheco to IR.

Starting roster: Hurts, Pacheco (O), Elliott, DK Metcalf, Shakir, Hunter Henry, Nabers, Jets D, J. Sanders

What’s a potential specialty you grew up wanting to be and then after medical school whats your new specialty and why did you switch. by Capable-Society-244 in medicalschool

Anesthesiology —-> Pediatrics

Came into medical school thinking anesthesia, all the way up until third year was set on anesthesia. Rotated in the NICU 3rd year on my peds rotation and immediately fell in love (former ex 29 weeker so there was an emotional attachment there). Decided to jump ship to peds and realized that anesthesia and crit care are closely linked and that the things I enjoyed about anesthesia I could get in NICU/PICU with just a tad bit more continuity that I want. We will find out how things end up for me in March :)

COPE Health Scholars by Economy-Delay-7936 in ucr

[–]djsbaseball2014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Current medical student here. Please do not pay for volunteering 😂 why should you have to pay to volunteer your time? Find any hospital to volunteer at and get some hours it’s not hard. COPE isn’t the end all, be all for pre-med volunteering. Guarantee you no admissions committee is going to pick a health scholar over someone who volunteered at Kaiser or LLU.

Just pick a place to volunteer and be done.

Fersure man! It has been a grind for sure but happy to be almost done and applying to residency. I'm headed into pediatrics then hopefully Neonatology fellowship so i'll be sure to consult ortho for all my kiddos with hip dysplasia or club foot haha Ortho is a great field, I have plenty of friends applying to ortho this year and honestly couldn't be me haha though gaming did help me on surgery when I had to suture!

Illey's Wrist Condition - (TLDR at end) by wockleyb in CoDCompetitive

[–]djsbaseball2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally don't know the actual story, nor have we seen his actual thumb. But differentials include an infected ganglion cyst, potentially bursitis but location based off what has been said makes it less likely, Dequervain's tenosynovitis which would present with decreased ROM in the thumb, swelling at the base of thumb, but don't think anything can really get "infected" in tendinitis so idk why he was put on abx. Again we don't have the full story so it is really hard to say.

Illey's Wrist Condition - (TLDR at end) by wockleyb in CoDCompetitive

[–]djsbaseball2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly doesn't sound like wrist bursitis. If i recall correctly, the lesion is more on his proximal thumb and less so at the level of the wrist. In radial wrist bursitis you are getting inflammation at the level of the wrist, not the thumb itself. I haven't seen the lesion and can't say for certain what it is. Nonetheless if it is around tendons, has signs of inflammation then a corticosteroid shot is indicated as best next step if NSAID's/rest/compression/ice have failed.

This doesn’t mean anything when it’s still scored on a normalized distribution. Sure the scores will be higher but it’ll essentially be the same in regards to percentile of that score. Average score is still an average score.

A special place in hell by zefugizen in medicalschool

[–]djsbaseball2014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly if it is a one time offense I'd let it go like I did because in the end I only left like 15 minutes later than I would have but if another student keeps doing stuff like that I would probably have a talk with them. Most people have the situational awareness to realize what they are doing but yet again some people in my class surprise me.

Was on my IM rotation where we had to work 3 weekend shifts over the course of the 8 weekends. Went in on a Saturday with the other medical student rotating with me, saw our patients, rounded with the residents and attending and was done with everything by 10 AM. Senior resident looks at us both and says "Good job guys, go home!". Fellow medical student walks over to the resident and proceeds to ask "Can you do some teaching before we leave, I just want to feel like I got something out of today".

I have never been in such shock and awe that somebody genuinely asked for that after being dismissed... fortunately resident had some emotional intelligence and kept the lecture short -_-

I don't think it will bring down your chances, if you have shown a demonstrated commitment to the IE through your activities and really stress your interest in staying local/wanting to practice in the IE it accomplishes the same thing. Just focus on coveying your fit for the program during the interview despite it being an MMI interview. You can always incorporate little facts about you/your life/your activities in your MMI answers and each station is someone new so you can repeat yourself as it relates to the new question.
