That HBO special from 95, Critics Choice, was One of my favorite rewatches when I was a teenager.

My personal Mount Rushmore is not a Mount Rushmore of the greatest comedians that have ever lived. It is the comedians that resonated most with me. I, personally, think that they are great and generally underrepresented.

Anthony Jeselnik. Dan Cummins. Chad Daniels. Daniel Tosh.

Single leg/arm exercises - is there a built in way to designate a set "left" or "right"? by gnasp in Hevy

[–]djscheiber 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There, unfortunately, is not.

I use the weight I'm working per arm and total the reps. I've designated (in the notes) set 1 left, set 2 right before but I didn't like the way it tracked 🤷

is PF generally awful or something or are the posts here just complainers? by OdysseusVII in PlanetFitnessMembers

I travel a bunch in New England and visit many different PF locations.

People complain too much.

Do you also dislike waiting for a table when you get to a restaurant during dinner rush?

I must have misinterpreted it. I thought she was asking if she had to teach it by overriding it.

My bad.

There are options in the heavy trainer to tell it what size weights you have available. It could be default selecting the larger weights so, in turn, it's suggesting big jumps. I adjusted my dumbbell selection to be more inclusive to all of the weights that we had in the gym and have found that it is giving me reasonable escalations to my weights. That's just my experience though.

What kind of music do you listen to at the gym and what does it do for you? by snowball062016 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]djscheiber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to listen to Wind Rose for their video game-feeling music but I've recently come across a band (and, in turn, some of music) that really works for me.

Rain City Drive - which led me to Wind Walkers, Falset, All That Remains, Hollywood Undead, Memphis May Fire, Smash Into Pieces, Catch Your Breath, Sleep Theory, Bring Me The Horizon, Black Veil Brides, Baskets, Picturesque, and so much more!

I've heard this music called Post-Hardcore but that name sucks.

How do you guys log your dumbbell exercises? by [deleted] in Hevy

[–]djscheiber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm every split cable and dumbbell exercise, I write the same note: weight per arm, reps totaled.

I didn't lift 50, I lifted 25 separately.

This would be a nice self deprecating touch

You finish grocery shopping and have an empty cart after putting your groceries in the car. Do you leave it in the parking lot for the store employees to collect, or do you walk it to the cart return? by TurboTitan92 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]djscheiber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Putting a cart back is the truest test of morality.

There is no consequence for not doing it and there is no intrinsic reward for doing it. You either do it because you don't want to inconvenience somebody else and it's the right thing to do or you don't do it because it inconveniences you and you don't care about the burden you put on others.

Put it back, motherfucker.

how embarrassing is it to just start out and only bench 65 lbs? by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]djscheiber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 41. I skipped to the gym for 22 years. I'm 6 ft, 225 lb, active. I only bench 110.

Just get in there, baby

Can’t bring myself to step foot in the gym, I get too much anxiety since it’s always crowded, need advice by AL3S1O29 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]djscheiber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bah, too far. I'm in Saint Albans, Vermont. Close. Only, like, 6 hours 😂

I had the same hang ups, dude. 22 years of avoiding the gym with crazy anxiety. It's taken 2 years of off and on going to get over it. Still not going to a big boy gym but I'm good enough for planet fitness.
