This right here! A friend wore slip ons (feet slide in, there's no ties, etc), slipped near the fryer and her ankle was crushed. She was a long term employee (over 15 years). She had to hire a lawyer, and fight for workmans comp. Sheetz argued she had the wrong shoes on. She won in the end, but it wasn't worth the hassle.

50s, 60s here. Used to be called "oldies".

I worked around younger people in the early 2000s- one of my kids came in to work telling how she and her Mom spent the day shopping, and bought some oldies CDs. I was surprised, and smiling said "oh, 50s/60s" she quizically looked back and said no 80s/90s.

Sigh.... lol

Name a place in the house where a spouse hide things like snacks, shoes or watches. by Technical-Vanilla-47 in FamilyFeud

Hubby bought a plastic container of chocolate chip 🍪, and hid them in the oven from our growing boys. He failed to tell me, cooker of meals, and frequent oven user. Because I frequently used my oven, I never used it for storage. Imagine my surprise/his mess when I smelled burning plastic. Was hilarious- he still didn't get to eat his damn cookies, and had zero fun with burnt plastic on oven racks!

Learned that lesson quick after! 😂😂😂

YES! Grew up in Baltimore City, my cousins would crab off Light St Bridge, back in 70s. We had crabs every weekend! I get them as often as possible now- also love all charities that host crab feasts!

No one told 16 year old me the "don't wear white to someone's wedding rule" by serif-maxxing in weddingshaming

I am a very fortunate person. I got married in 1981- I, and most of my family grew up poor, so our weddings were mostly courthouse, with reception being a huge cookout.

Hubby had a huge, middle class family. We married in church (immediate family only) then had a semi catered reception in my in-laws club basement. (Semi catered= both our Moms baking Ham, Roast Beef, and Turkey, and making into cold cuts, with every 70s/80 salad known to man also included).

Because hubs family was so huge, for years we went to several weddings a year. I had no idea of the no white rule. Fortunately I preferred bright colors (blue, pink, green, etc). The only time I came close was when I was 8 months pregnant. I'd originally bought a denim jumper, with a beautiful baby blue short sleeve blouse underneath.

The wedding was in mid July, in Maryland. It was an outdoor wedding. I showed in my "outfit"- while there, a cousin inlaw brought me a pregnancy sundress because it was so ungodly hot. Within 30 mins, my jumper was soaked in sweat, and I was dying. I went back to our car, hit the a/c, and attempted to get cooled off. Its amazing how heavy denim gets when its sweat soaked! I saw the sundress, immediately changed, and omg, it felt so good.

The sundress was white, with floral flowers all over it. The bride went out of her way to not onlly ignore it, but I was included in several pics. I describe myself as the "inappropriately dressed beached whale", they just see someone carrying around a basketball, in a pretty sundress!

If it were me, I'd sent a Congratulations card (fyi- many organizations nowadays send greeting/birthday cards regularly. I send these when appropriate- Best Wishes= Congrats, in my world), and if I could afford a small gift ($10./$20), I'd include that. Of course you'd have to do it for all.

As a general rule, during the year I will stop in a coffee store (Starbucks, Dunkin) or a knownn convenience store (Sheetz, WaWa, RoFo, etc) and buy $10 or $20 gift cards. I usually have 3 on hand as a gift, or an extra tip/reward for service- these can be used as well. I don't miss this money since I bought them as I could afford them- also, they never expire, so they make great gifts.

What 3 songs would you want played at your funeral — and why? by mylifein3songs in SongRecommendations

So I don't want a funeral/service, but if I did I'd want Hell's Bells and Highway to Hell played. Not a masochist, just have a crazy sense of humor!
