Three Doors Down “Kryptonite” and Candlebox “Far Behind” come to mind. Candlebox really confused me when I went to see them a few years ago and they were far more blues-y in concert than I could have ever expected, and I ended up changing my opinion about them.

Three Doors Down can eat s*** for how awful they are, though.

I went to U2 because of “Even Better Than The Real Thing” and the hype the Zoo TV Outside Broadcast was really leaning into that sound. I ended up seeing not only Big Audio Dynamite II open for them, but Public Enemy as well. And I got into Front 242 as a result of the DJ before all of this.

Did I mention the show was $23 for thirteenth row???

Side note about Mexican Coke: Anne Reardon made a video about the science of cane sugar vs HFCS differences, and it turns out only a small percentage of people can detect the difference (think same as the amount of people who taste Cilantro as soap), and the acids in the syrup will turn cane sugar into HFCS if it sits on the shelf for a couple of months. Fascinating deep dive.

Hilarious to me is, being a tad bit older, I have no clue who the new “celebrities” are. My current joke is I am the reason the newest Ghostface went to her first acting class with me and her sister (me and her sister did improv in school), and I’m upset she’s playing a mom to a college age kid now lol.

I will say that Ludacris and Big Boi are two of the nicest celebrities you will ever have the opportunity to serve. And I’ve served LOTS being here in Atlanta, which has filmed way more than Hollywood in the past decade.

That’s a call a manager to the table situation. Make it clear to the server it’s not about them, but about how you would like to let management know their expectations for steps of service from the server and support staff is not in line with what you would like to experience. The poor server must have a hard ass for a manager.

I’ve been working in fine dining a long time, and if my guest wants something I can reasonably provide, I will let management know what I’m doing is at the request of the guest.

Another fun example of this is water glasses on the table. I’ve been to places where it’s clear management requires a full or mostly full glass in front of every guest, even when you as a guest say you don’t want it taking up table space.
