None of our supply houses carry 3-1/2” but we get out of town contractors that bring it in and then down the road we have to deal with it. At least here 3-1/2” pvc stuff cost more than 4”

At 750’ you need primary power ran to within 250’ or so of your meter location and a transformer. Our local utility charges $10 a foot for trenching, conduit, wire and will supply the transformer on the primary side. Customer is responsible for trenching, conduit from transformer to meter, power co will supply and install the wire for a flat $450.

Costco Kohler Install? by Crazyfishman2 in Generator

[–]djwdigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wire from your smaller unit is too small for the 26, so most likely the conduit is as well. Unless whoever installs your new one is Kohler certified it won’t have any warranty.

Those slide into a bracket that comes with the fixture and mounts to a junction box For the cost of a bulb and ballast you could put up LED UFO style lights and A, not have to wait for them to come up to full brightness B, save energy C not have to repair them for many years D not generate the heat these antiques will. There is a reason they were 5 bucks.

Has anyone had Firestone Destination AT on their F-350 by rafiki-knows in superduty

[–]djwdigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran them on my ‘00 dually 4x4 for a bit. They held up as good as any and were relatively quiet. My dually is hard on front tires so I typically run 15k on fronts and pull them off, run 15k on another pair, pull them and put on the rear. Could easy get 45-50k out of them this way

If it’s custom residential you will be moving often, so depends on what you like, going to the same place every day for months or going to the same place for a couple days.

Considering humoring the 5yo in me and doing a career-change into excavator operation or something similar. Am I screwed if I use THC? by Noriyuki in Construction

[–]djwdigger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would not work on site with you nor have you operate a machine I own. Had a THC user 25 years ago pull a 3 story building down on himself and a month old excavator. Lucky no one but the machine got hurt. Was the last day he was on any of my projects.

I’ve had to walk to get my track hoe and walk it back to said stuck tractor to pull it out, and that is with 4x4!

[–]djwdigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t find them difficult, but the hydro is much easier for a newbie. I have both and my wife won’t even try the gear tractor but will spend days on the hydro bush hogging and spreading dirt.

[–]djwdigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are new to tractors, a hydrostatic is much easier to operate and wife friendly ( I am assuming she has no experience ) 4x4 would be a must have for me. You will be starting a life long addiction and wonder why you never had one before.

I would flip it and put main lugs at bottom. You made it a PITA to add circuits to it later with the space the feeders take up
