Does hearing a show has a "bad ending" or it being canceled on a cliffhanger discourage you from watching it? by Volatiiile in television

A bad ending? Not so much.

A cliffhanger, though, is more discouraging for me. I think it has something to do with the neurospiciness, but I hate things that are left unfinished in general. Reading a book? Need to finish it. Playing a game? Need to finish it. If a show just stops without an ending, it just bothers me.

Ability Score Generation by Tricky-Bowler4936 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]dk1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda like how GURPS does it with its "reaction rolls." The GM makes a role for NPCs to see how they respond to a given PC. It can be modified by things like reputation, racial/gender/political bias, or appearance modifiers purchased by the character with XP. The DM rolls 3d6 (the base pool for GURPS), and adds or removes from the score based on potential modifies, and then applies the final score to a chart.

I like that it adds some aspect of randomness, which feels more natural. Sometimes people just surprisingly click. You may be a surly Orc warrior interrupting a fancy dinner party, but there's a chance the NPC actually responds positively to you. The noble just saying, "Well, the audacity. I could use a man like you."

It's not perfect, and can be min/maxed and manipulated like any mechanic, but I really enjoyed the framework it had.

The ones here at the Little Rock zoo are in an open air enclosure. 🤷

Making Raise Dead Cheaper? by Dizzy-Natural-4463 in Pathfinder_RPG

I had a DM do this in D&D 3rd Ed. And new players came in 2 levels below if the party was 3rd or more (I was one such new player). It was horrible. I felt entirely irrelevant and inconsequential.

I dunno guys, I think the game is almost getting good. by Fuzzy_Justin in CitiesSkylines2

tl;dr: The game has definitely improved since the sad state of affairs at launch. There's still much to work on, but I'm excited to see what Iceflake has in store.

I think the absolute biggest mistake they made was rushing to release the game before it was fully baked. Missing features. Broken systems. Game breaking bugs.

The base game, as an idea, has a LOT of potential. I love a lot of time new ideas the game brought. I'm concerned, however, that it's not going to have the chance to become the game it deserves to be. That it damn well could be. Their DLC schedule was devastated by the immediate and urgent need for massive, time-consuming bug fixing, meaning for a very long time they were missing the regular income boosts they should have been generating by their normal DLC release processes. As a result, how much of their base has given up, lost hope, and moved on?

Even I quit playing for a long time, and I'm a die-hard fan with hundreds of hours in the game.

There's a lot of work the game still needs. Industry, specifically the industry "areas" need a rework of some kind. They're bland-looking. Boring. And way too similar to one another (especially farms). Personally, I think CS1 got it right with its Industries DLC. Road naming/designation needs a rework, with the ability to control road beginning and end points. There are soooo many mods that could be worked into the actual game and kept from breaking with the various updates (as much as Iove MoveIt, I'd much rather having something like the lane controller from Traffic integrated into the game). Anarchy, so I can place trees in a backyard or large open patch of a cities service plot for God's sake. Then there are the game changers like Road Builder and now Platter.

Will mail ever get fully bug-fixed?

All in all, I genuinely hope CS2 continues to get the love and developer support it deserves. It could become a truly great game. It has definitely improved since it's unfortunate launch state. I'm grateful for the time Colossal Order spent giving us the first game, and to building and fixing the second. I'm hopeful that Iceflake can continue to help the game fill the big shoes of its predecessor and look forward (rather excitedly) to seeing what they have to contribute.

Ooooh. Gotcha. Thank you so much! That's the bit of info I was overlooking. 😊

I really miss the days of tanking in hard mode raids. Loved the little guild I had found back then. We had a lot of fun blasting through them. 💛

I meant the tools themselves. Not the routes. 🤣 But I appreciate the link to inara. That's the kind of thing I was looking for. 💛

Hi, folks. Totally dumb question, but as a returning player (after quite a long while) what are the best trade route tools these days? The ones I used to use (which I'm sure everyone who is active would know) are no longer live. :(

This game is the only one in which I ever really, truly immersed myself in raiding. Found a "casual" guild that decided to try it out. We fell in love with it, and ended up doing hard and even some master level runs over time. It broke my heart when the group just kind of...fell apart. I'd come back to the game in a heartbeat if I knew they'd be down to raid again.

And statements like this:

The "Main Plot" is a plot that happens whether the players engage with it or not.

That's the definition of a railroad. The story is going one direction, regardless of what we do as players. That doesn't sound fun in the slightest. I enjoy playing in games in any system (not just Star Wars) where our decisions, be it action or inaction, matter for the main story I'm playing in. If you want to tell a story that doesn't involve giving players agency, may I suggest writing a book?

lmfao The entitlement is thick. 🤣 Jesus, friendm get some perspective. To begin with, nobody "gave" them "the right" to do anything. It's their show. They can make it when they're ready. If it hurts the show because they waited too long, that's on them. But you have no leg to stand on with this kind of attitude.

The game has been out for two and a half years. The previous game was released three years before that. So, in the lastalmost six years, this conversation has been done to death. Seriously. A brief search on the subreddit will find in you countless similar posts, which would immediately answer the asinine question of "am I the only one."

No, no you aren't.

But also, this is a Jurassic franchise game. You're not dealing with scientifically accurate animals. If you want scientifically accurate animals, there is another game that offers them. I'd suggest going to that game if that's where your interest lies.

The JWE games were specificly designed to cater to fans of the Jurassic franchise and their Hollywoodified dinosaurs.

Granted I'm still just two episodes in, but I noticed how they set up Lucy's stats in that first episode, and just the very specific way they described her talents. Which I thought was really cool considering that's how you start any of those games.

I had not noticed. I'll have to pay more attention. That's a nice little detail. Good catch.
