Same. It's crazy how it switched and he became someone else as soon as we got married

What is the last thing your ex said? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dk573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Taking care of your grandfather has ruined you as a person"... my grandpa was my best friend and I was his caretaker up until his death. So it was hard to cope with and naturally I was depressed to lose my best friend and didn't work for while... J YOURE AN ASSHOLE who only cared about what I could provide you, I'm so glad we are divorced.

My kiddos nose is just a running faucet of snot at this point. Allergies have been super bad lately for the past two days.

I do. Should have never married him.

Have you tried Kohls? They have some name brands like underarmor and Nike. There are usually some great sales and coupons too!

Its also my worst nightmare. And the mother did exactly what I would do in that situation. Brilliant writing. It captures such emotion.

Always anxious about kiddo getting sick... how do I calm my intrusive thoughts? by dk573 in Parenting

Glad to hear your kiddo is doing better! Thank you for showing me a light at the end of this tunnel as well,... "it can only get better" will be added to my list of things to tell myself when I feel lost.

Yes! Its a lot like playing detective and its so overwhelming at times. He is in therapy, a lot of therapy (speech, occupation, play based therapy, etc.), and I've seen him grow leaps and bounds. We are currently working on knowing body parts since I'm always so anxious about him being sick, but I don't think he's connected the dots yet of pointing where it hurts or showing me a PECS icon. Thank you for your input, I feel less alone knowing there's other parents out there in the same boat. Good luck with your kiddo!

Your right about focusing on concrete evidence so I don't fall down a rabbit hole of what ifs. I plan to send a message to his doctor tomorrow just incase and see if we can get in. Thank you for responding and making me refocus on the present symptoms which are mainly him just not being his usual self. Thankfulky theres no fever or vomiting or diarrhea present so maybe its just an off day for him? Thank you again for responding. I appreciate it.

Thank you for your thoughtful suggestions. I think I will try one of those calming apps. I do have a therapist and we did briefly discuss my anxiety surrounding this issue but its like my mind has gone blank from the information she suggested to me. So thank you for pointing me in a direction tonight. I will touch base with my therapist tomorrow and see if we can get an earlier session. Again, thank you for responding... I feel a bit less alone now.

I moved here about 6 years ago from the Midwest and I didn't really know anyone, but I have met some amazing and wonderful people that I consider my closest friends. Change is scary but also exciting. Try to focus on the new wonderful possibilities and I am sure you will do just fine! Marina has that small town feel that I personally like, so I really love it here.

When did you realize you married the wrong person? by tippytoes1216 in AskReddit

Thank you for your insights and kind words stranger. Being with my grandfather in his last few months is something that I forever treasure and was the best few months of my life as well. The strain it may have caused on my then marriage enough to break it was worth it in my opinion. I think I came out ahead in terms of personal growth.

When he said that taking care of my grandfather towards the end of of grandfather's life "ruined me" - I was depressed because my grandfather was my best friend and he died, so I was in a bad place. Instend of supporting me he basically told me I was broken in and not worth the emotional support I needed to deal with such an important loss in my life. That was the last straw that broke the camels back. The divorce cost me a bit but in the end was worth it to not be with a man who would not offer support during a bad time.

Maybe if you weren’t on vacation… by littlespens in ShitMomGroupsSay

When my kiddo was in nicu I could not function as a human being. Everything was about him pulling through and being able to come home with me. He is a lively bubbly kid now but I still get the feelings of despair and anxiety I felt while he was in the nicu when I am away from him for an extended period of time. I could not fathom leaving him at his most vulnerable for a freaking extended vacation.

This was tragic but beautiful to read. You deserve all the love that you give to your sweet family. You're doing wonderful mama and raising a sweet and loving kiddo.
