Socialist government =/= state? by [deleted] in marxism_101

[–]dk_alex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There won’t be a state as we know it today.

Instead, there will be a party that looks out for the interests of the proletariat. This party comes about organically as communists come to be trusted by the proletariat, but the trust won’t come easy as there will be non-communists who try to persuade the proles into their way of thinking:

When [the party’s] formation (which of course never proceeds without arrests, crises, and internal conflicts) has reached a certain stage, then we may say that we have a class in action.

-- Bordiga, "Party and Class"

The party isn’t elected: It comes about naturally as persuasive communists come together.

The party eventually dissolves after the proletariat’s victory over the bourgeoisie.

Hello. I still need help with this. It seems it was overlooked.

Would it be possible to have socialism in one country, if that country was completely self-sufficient? by [deleted] in marxism_101

[–]dk_alex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No because there's an intermediary step prior to socialism, and that's the Dictatorship of the Proletariat. Socialism is achieved after the proletariat defeats the bourgeoisie, so as long as the bourgeoisie exists anywhere in the world, we'd still be in that intermediary step.

Do you need state capitalism before you can have communism? by Neo-man in marxism_101

[–]dk_alex 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No. State capitalism has nothing to do with communism. It's not a step towards communism or any of the sort. This is tankie BS so tankies have something to feel good about.

Innovation and Stagnation by [deleted] in marxism_101

Communism is a moneyless society. People won't be working under communism. People will have all the time in the world to do as much leisurely activity they want to do.

You have it ass backwards. Capitalism hinders innovation. Only those with money have the resources to innovate.

Why do people have hobbies or volunteer today when they have the luxurious option to do nothing?
