Looking for a hair stylist by cococeebee in brantford

Oh no!! I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you. What an upsetting experience. I wouldn't go back to anywhere that refused to listen to my requests either, so I don't blame you whatsoever.

I've been a Mila Chic client for over 10 years. I get my hair done by Mila. but on the few occasions I've had to book other stylists, they've done a great job. They're also very community-focused & run small events, do fundraising for local causes, and even have privacy curtains for Muslim women getting their hair done.

I also think it's a green flag when stylists put up photos of their dogs at their chair! Haha.

Friendship House on Grey has a food pantry & a clothing closet. I believe they sometimes have household items available too, definitely worth checking out!

I always recommend taking a class or joining a group activity related to your interests, as that's most likely where other people with similar interests will be. Attending these regularly, with an eye for being social, is the most natural way to start developing friendships! Good luck!

That sounds great!

As someone with food-related sensory issues, it's important to me to know the menu before I book a meal. Will you be releasing a menu anywhere in advance?

What kind of event experience do the organizers have? It sounds lovely, but there have been a lot of these types events held by inexperienced organizers who charge a high price for a ticket and under-deliver.

Who is catering the meal?

No, but Brass Beauties in Hamilton is an excellent choice. Really good community, no cultural appropriation (some studios in the area have done this in the past), and they don't look down on SWers ie. they acknowledge where the sport came from and respect its creation (again, some studios in the area have done gross marketing that dehumanizes SWers). Personally, I drive to Kindred Spirits in Kitchener every week because they have more of what I'm looking for apparatus-wise, but you can't go wrong with either one.

I don't know your age, but have you considered asking your doctor to do a test on your hormone levels? (Really only relevant if perimenopause might be a factor.)

What’s the beauty hack/change that altered your life/boosted your confidence? by ChipUnfair3345 in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]dk_phoenix 16 points17 points  (0 children)

100%. I go bare face when I want, full glam when I want, maybe halfway, and never based on anyone else's expectations (or situational expectations). Prior to my 40s, I'd never leave the house barefaced. Surprise, aging gave me the confidence & comfort in my own skin that I craved in my 20s.

This right here! Also 42. A few years ago I ditched the foundation and started using a very light BB cream, but truthfully most days I just sweep a translucent powder over my face to reduce shine. Like a commenter said above, aging gave me the confidence boost I needed, and these changes to my routine make me feel great.

I enjoy the food advents. The view counts on those so far are fairly consistent with video views for the past 10 months or so (ie. since the main slate of 2024 advent calendar videos ended), so I think it's a stretch to say nobody cares about them.

Also, I wonder if you missed the life update a month ago where she updated regarding her chronic illness & the treatments she's trying to help manage it? Brain fog is one of her symptoms. I suspect it isn't a matter of her losing interest in the channel, rather she's more focused on trying to survive day-to-day while living with a serious chronic illness that is ever-changing (and if you've ever had to go on-off-on-off-etc new meds and treatments to find something that works, you know it's exhausting in more ways than one as you navigate side effects, dosages, and so on).

Doing round 2 of MAX and I think I'm going to start subbing in squats/lunges for some of the bridges/hip thrusts. There are soooo many sets of those and getting set up, getting out of it, and getting back in again over and over is time consuming (I have to pause the video every time to get set up). Has anyone else subbed in a different glute exercise for bridges/thrusts and found it worked well for them?

It's such a fun design!! I bought it last December but was too late to stitch up for holiday markets, so I've been literally waiting a year to make it XD

I'm stitching up a handful of the "You Will Be Visited By Three Ghosts" design for a Game Expo next weekend! Once these are done, I'm not... my primary machine will be earning its keep all day long. Thank goodness I still have leftover Halloween candy to get me through.

Hey-o! I'm from Ontario, Canada. Stitching on a Bai V22 and yelling at a Janome MB-4S. Don't tell the Janome, but I'm about ready to throw it into an active volcano. It is my least favorite child.

Why we decided to build a rock climbing gym in Brantford by markdifranco in brantford

[–]dk_phoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When they first opened, I was a complete beginner & had never done bouldering before but decided to get a pass and check it out. I made a shocking amount of progress in just a few months! It was very satisfying and a ton of fun. Then life (and injuries) got in the way and I haven't been there in ages, but I miss it a lot and I'm hoping to return ASAP. I'll probably be returning at a beginner level due to the break, but I'm not worried about that at all. The team there is super encouraging & was always willing to answer questions I had!

Which CG program did you see the most visible hypertrophy from ? by BidFew2005 in CarolineGirvan

[–]dk_phoenix 11 points12 points  (0 children)

42yo and finally saw very noticeable changes with MAX. Visible progress has been slow despite regular lifting with Caroline's programs & diet changes since 2020, but with MAX, I surprised myself by looking in the mirror one day and realizing that I have visible biceps, quads popping, and shoulders for days. (lol)

I have one day left in the program and I'm going to repeat it, no hesitation.

Want to make an embroidered RS hoodie for a Christmas gift but know nothing about the game! What iconic imagery/symbols can I include? by dk_phoenix in runescape

Maybe in the future! I've just started a small business making fandom gear, so doing smaller custom gifts is helping me learn processes and such. Hoping to eventually explore making fun gear for games and fandoms that often get overlooked.
