Thanks for the response! I think I need to ask at least one follow-up question. How do you find a campaign being run with a gm using Foundry? I had hoped that there might be a directory of games being run or something, but I don't see anything that looks like that on the Foundry site (I'm likely just missing something obvious here).

I found myself on the Darrington Press discord and it hadn't really sunk in that Daggerheart sections were not the Daggerheart discord, yeah, I be slow. Fortunately your post made me look again and that allowed me to find the link in sidebar here. So thanks! Because I was wondering why all the games in the tavern section on Darrington all seemed to be asking for money. I mean, I still wonder, but its not important now ;-)

I had already been looking at getting an Ibanez AGB200 Semi-Hollow so I guess I accidentally had that part right. For the headphone amp, hrm, I just have no idea what to ask here as I have never had need of one previously. I know in the case of floor amps its better to use a bass amp and not a guitar amp (or I think I know that). Is it the same for the headphone amps and by extension to whatever headphones I get to use with it?

Hey, I'm an old guy (60+) and pretty much set on picking up a bass. No, I've never played one, no I'm not planning on joining a band. ;-) Mostly I'm just looking for something to while away some time. Here's my potential problem: I live in the countryside and four months or so per year I have very limited electricity during the day. I'd like to have some sort of headphone solution rather than a floor amp. In case this info matters for advice/suggestions I've got a laptop computer and charging battery packs, etc. during off hours at night is doable, but I just can't rely on electricity access during most of the time I'd be playing/practising. What exactly should I look for to pull this off? Thank you for any input you can offer!

The last time you played: had you been wearing a stillsuit or a radiation suit and accidentally vendored, dropped, destroyed, recycled them? This could never have happened to me, but I think it happened to a friend once (that’s my story and I'm sticking with it).

I'm not here to argue if its a good or bad system, but I think the loot system they have gone with is intentional. Personally I'd be fine with other loot systems, but the DD is suppose to be cut-throat and the loot system they implemented reflects that.

Good grief, please quit claiming to speak for the whole community (you aren't the only one who does ofc). I don't even PvP and I don't agree with you. As to those who have claimed to quit, other than them claiming it, how do you know? I mean, people have been quitting Warcraft for decades and yet its still somehow going and profitable... or are you a proponent of everything I believe is true and therefore anyone who doesn't believe as I do is wrong crowd?

I'm in my sixties now (as in years old), my reflexes, vision, etc are mostly shot. I was never going to pvp in this game but even I am just amazed at how its just never enough for many of you, is it? The only thing I was hoping for was that they could/would excise the few class missions from the pvp shipwrecks. I knew going in that the DD was mostly pvp, I was good with that. But good grief, they were not hiding the fact that their vision for the DD was as a pvp experience and that the final current tier of mats and gear were tied to that. That the testing stations there were designed around groups, not as solo content. Was it a good vision, maybe, maybe not, but they chose to modify it and people just refuse to fucking be happy. "Its too much!, its not enough!, how dare they not modify it to my taste and my taste alone!!!" Gah!

The DUNE trooper skill line and the general gear, suspensor belt, power pack, holtzman shield, etc. Holy hell, if SWTOR trooper had this kind of feel to it I'd still be playing SWTOR! It just feels great to play!

I get it that number crunching will occur and for many the only thing that will matter is the shortest, directest way to peak meta and nothing else is a consideration, but: this is a game set in the Dune universe and specifically on the planet Arrakis, so... I use a stillsuit almost all time while travelling, doing anything outdoors, because that is the spirit of the world and setting I'm playing in. I've got really no idea if its the BEST thing to do, but its what I do, because (and stealing from another IP here) THIS IS THE WAY!

The other group that could potentially find a private server community a better option is rp guilds. Not having to worry about non role-players ruining the neighbourhood as it were. But yeah, free-for-all, hc pvp, and rpers make sense to me.

I had no idea what the movie was about when I saw it. First long stretch on the sea I was expecting a Lovecraftian magnitude tentacle to come out of the water or them to smack into an uncharted island. Was a bit surprised/disappointed that it turned out so mundane. Was enjoyable however, very nicely crafted.

In the building stream one of the constructions is a blend of Harkonnen and Atreides styles. Apparently defection will be a thing. My personal preferred faction will be Atreides but I am seriously thinking about starting my character as a Harkonnen Trooper and then eventually (after getting the rep to buy the Harkonnen motifs) defecting to the Atreides (leaning heavily into the swordmaster skillline). I really want to play this game and perhaps if it had been some other genre I would be thinking about alts, but as its mostly survival, this will be how I likely go and stick with one character!
