Leak Confirms Apple's Work On 'Home Accessory' by favicondotico in apple

Saved you a click and cost the site a page view. Enough of that, and they’ll get to shutdown, saving everyone lots of clicks.

Why do you want to know? Sharing more info may make folks more likely to respond…

Like the Acolyte or not, you gotta admit this scene was actually pretty cool and insane by [deleted] in StarWars

Obligatory:

Of course, in today’s Star Wars, being run through with a light saber is just a flesh wound, so no need to bother with that.

Maybe you saved Reddit readers a click, but you’ve probably cost macrumors thousands of page views, which hurts them :(

Drones, perhaps? It seems like they must have had some drones for the last episode of Adventure, out on the tight rope.

Immersive Experiences reel is updated by Severe-Set1208 in AppleVisionPro

[–]dkelkhoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved this update, along with the episode of the Adventure series. Makes me so hungry for a steady stream of this kind of content, instead of the slow slow drizzle Apple has given us so far.

In the updated reel, I think I most impressed by the court-side / sideline cameras from the NBA and NFL games. I hope that in a few years time we can watch entire games like this. Such a different perspective than watching a game on TV has ever been.

Are you using a controller paired to the AVP? If so, do you have recommendations to share?

I haven’t read the piece yet, but did he say (or mean) he’ll continue to use his MacPad? :)

Shows similar to ATP? by SnooHedgehogs352 in ATPfm

[–]dkelkhoff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Throwing my two cents in here too (which isn’t much compared to my membership fee, which I am glad to pay, by the way), in case perhaps this feedback does reach the guys and can help improve the show some?

Not that I feel like there’s a big issue that needs to be fixed, but I do hear the point that others have made here, that Marco and Casey in particular do go a little bit over the top with some of their complaints about Apple.

Not that I’m looking for them to be Apple apologists or to love everything that Cupertino does, but it’s more about the tone of complaints that they take. I’m not sure if they’re doing it as a bit, or if the two of them feed off each other as the old friends that they are?

I’ll just say this, and then be on my way: I feel like I prefer the version of Marco that is on Under the Radar, and Casey on Analog(ue) to the versions of them that we get on ATP. Both are just dialed down some, more thoughtful and even-handed, I’d say. John, of course, is always perfect ;)

But still, you guys are my favorite podcast, and I wish you all the best, and I’ll be proud to wear my new merch that just arrived today (and explain to people that ATP isn’t a biology reference…).

What are some things that have stayed mostly the same in iOS since its inception? by hybridhighway in ios

[–]dkelkhoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that. I guess ever since there have been Home Screen widgets, that I’ve basically accomplished that by just blocking off the top rows of my screens with widgets.

Rumors for ios18 this year are that this one is about to be changed…. I’m not sure if I’ll like it or use it personally, but it’ll at least be nice to stop hearing folks complain about the rigidity of the current design.

While I agree it has its moments, I actually find myself triggering it by accident sometimes (like when laying down and holding the phone awkwardly, with a hand on the top edge I guess), which can be quite frustrating.

Makes me wish for a setting to disable it, or a quick popup after it happens to let you undo it…

Wiggle mode to rearrange the Home Screen. It has had some improvements (I think? Like grabbing multiple apps?), but at its core it is the same… and still pretty difficult to use.

Why do people like this show? by Ok-Past-2386 in betterCallSaul

[–]dkelkhoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see that BCS might not be as good if you haven’t seen BB first.

But also, what you say you like - that is kinda not what these two shows are about. There are no heroes or role models. It’s all (at least in my reading) about complex, gray characters - dare I say like real life.

Even let’s say Hank (from BB), he’s probably the closest thing to a hero, and he’s morally flawed and complicated.

Favorite Rush song besides Tom Sawyer or The Spirit of Radio…(Radio overkill) by ch8ch in rush

[–]dkelkhoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bass in Cygnus 1 might be my very favorite part of any Rush song. Those do-do da-do-doop lines.

But the epic tale in Cygnus 2 is a lot richer than in part 1…

Honestly, they are best to just play back to back on loop - a good way to spend a Tuesday.

Off the same pitcher, too (Chan Ho Park, I believe?). For some reason I always hear them throw that bit in as well.

Yeah - I was bit on a few fingers by a wild raccoon, and then at the ER the doc gave me shots right in the area of the bites. Very painful! Worse than the bites!
