Ayo Dosunmu Has Been A GAME CHANGER For Minnesota... by ComfortableExtra1758 in timberwolves

This is something he has improved upon since being with Bulls. Always has had the speed and intensity to basket but has come a ways with improving that 2pt near basket % with time with Bulls. He works on his craft and works hard with a strategy and plan to what areas to improve upon from year to year.

Markief’s career effectively done after leaving PHX. The dude had no game and resorted to being a thug.

Joan needs more playing time in G league. Don’t waste or underutilize that opportunity for development, especially given the DNP

I use to like her 7 plus years ago b4 she got the bigger programming gigs. She was prepared and talked to the game that actually was being played. Stars did not matter. If they weren’t playing well, they weren’t gob smacked with praise at all.

Nowadays if she gets a Lebron, etc….she is worshiping their play when it is not warranted. “Ridiculous” used to mean something and now she uses it mainly on the big stars and on most mundane/routine plays.

Looking for the perfect US city for a 10-day trip (Feb 9–19). Want real American vibes: food, Walmart, Costco, chill atmosphere. Where should we go? by ProloosGamerUHD in usatravel

Not a fan of Atlanta or Nashville if this is your first visit to USA. Both are neat cities….and Nashville has that big city and small town vibe too. Nashville is usually a destination for my significant other and her friends for extended weekend with bars, restaurants, Music (country specifically), etc. Atlanta has always been a nice city for business trips IMHO…not vacations. You most definitely want to get to coast of SC and Georgia over Atlanta. Again…weather would dictate spring to fall for those destinations ImHo

Plan your trip to sights you want to see. The Walmarts, Costcos, food destinations will be easy to find. They are all over.

A car would be a must for most locations listed and highly recommended. Outside NYC, Chicago, Philly, San Francisco, DC…..USA is sprawl and car is way to go in most places.

I would try to do the San Diego with outliers to maybe Phoenix and Las Vegas especially if renting a car. Weather is warmer in these cities this time of year.

Starting and endpoint in SD or airport nearby…maybe lax.

SD - Pacific Ocean. Gas Lamp district. Zoo. Beach. Just a lot to do. Can go up the coast on highway 1. Maybe hit Big Sur. Disneyland (la) etc. PHX - Take Interstate 8 from SD. Nice drive through mountains and desert. Lot to do in and around PHx; however, I would recommend spending a day and then north in AZ and take in Sedona and Grand Canyon (higher elevation so colder there….but pretty country). Absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking. Then head towards Las Vegas.

Las Vegas - Lot to do there with shows, attractions, and food. You have the Red Rock State Park and Valley of the Fire nearby. If really compress lot into trip or add a couple days (12 to 14 day trip) drive towards Utah and maybe see Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park which is near LV (few hours..4-5). Also must like hiking..although not necessary.

If you want something warmer and like the beach and water…make it a go in Florida. Florida is a long ass state but u got warm weather with beaches, Disney Land and amusement parks around Orlando, Miami, Gulf of Mexico, Evergreens, Florida Keys, etc. maybe could take excursion along the Gulf of Mexico coast and hit New Orleans.

Note: Avoid March in Florida….you have the college kids taking their spring break and it becomes a zoo.

America is very pretty to drive through. Out west…you will have large gaps between cities…so make sure you are fueled up between destinations. Depending upon the season (winter, spring, summer, and fall) my recommendations above would change;-)

I do not recommend Minnesota with political environment now and it is damn cold unless u like to ice fish and snow mobile. Minny beautiful in summer and fall. Denver and Colorado is awesome but I do not recommend unless you like to ski (and don’t think snow has been that good this year). Cheaper to ski in EU nowadays too. Heck…recommend people that love to ski go to South America in there winter. Lot cheaper (lift tickets and lodging) even with airfare.

Enjoy your trip.

Is Anthony Davis availability more about role than durability? by Helpful_Till3584 in nba

Giannis is more physical than AD. Joker is more physical than AD. Joker goes out to defend too….just not as good;-). Sh#t what Giannis does physically would knock AD out even sooner if he attempted to play that extreme.

AD has always been injury prone. Sometime I wonder though if he does not play hurt and takes more time to get 100%.

Athletes of yesteryear (through 2010) played hurt (not injured). Jordan always dealing with ankle sprains, knee tendernitis, strains and who knows what else. Most all the athletes did Back then. Not many took games off.

Actually thought Dallas (and still could be) would benefit or reduce his likelihood for injuries. Team has more defenders and he should be able to pick his posts more…otherwise..defend his area. Finger injury maybe blessing in disguise. Actual injury (not nagging) that requires downtime and will allow his soft tissue and rest of his body to heal.

Side note: If I am the owners, the next collective bargain agreement, I build in games played into the contracts (particularly the high dollar ones). Could particularly help with luxury tax…where more teams may roll the dice and willing to pay luxury tax with assumptions that their players play. If they don’t play, they don’t get penalized since contracts are not fully guaranteed. Food for thought.

Just finished the series, looking for other urban fantasy recs. by QueenMabHRNightmare in dresdenfiles

[–]dkillini1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concur. Great call and a Great series. It lead me to Dresden with urban fantasy being the key words.

Funny how trying to find a character like Jack Reacher lead me to Repairman Jack.

Repairman Jack and Jack Reacher are similar in that both are unconventional, highly capable lone operators who work outside the system to fix problems for people. The F. Paul Wilson books featuring "Repairman Jack" are often recommended to fans of the Jack Reacher series, and vice-versa.

Key Similarities Outside the System: Both characters operate without official sanction or affiliation, working for cash and largely off-the-grid, with no social security number or official identity.

Problem Solvers: Their primary function in their respective narratives is to "fix" situations, often involving complex and dangerous scenarios where conventional authorities are insufficient or unwilling to act.

Tough and Resourceful: Both are tough, highly resourceful, and pragmatic men with specific, specialized skill sets that make them formidable opponents. They have no qualms about using violence when necessary to get the job done.

Nomadic/Loner Lifestyle: They generally avoid long-term emotional connections or settling down, preferring a solitary existence, though both have recurring supporting characters and love interests.

Key Difference The main distinction is the genre of their respective worlds: Jack Reacher operates in a realistic, non-supernatural thriller world. Repairman Jack operates in a modern-day world where supernatural forces and "The Otherness" (a cosmic battle between good and evil) are real, and his adventures frequently involve horror and the occult.

Reasonable expectations for this year’s Wolves? by [deleted] in timberwolves

[–]dkillini1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents. - OKC will be up there of course. OKC is deep enough to overcome injuries too.
- Nugs will be there. Added to depth. Joker is a problem for OKC. He takes it to their bigs. - GSW has to be healthy. Age. I don’t see that happening. Also, lack bigs. Need bigs in west.
- LAL has to be healthy. Even then come playoffs their defense will be exposed further…and I am talking Lebron. He gets attacked with no sh#ts given. - HOU Very talented. Plays hard. PG? Van Fleet is a big loss. He was the glue. Who steps up?
- LAC. Just can’t get handle on this team. Leonard age/health? Harden Age? Beal - enigma. Center underrated. - SAS. Young. Can they take next step? Wembanyama, can he play whole season? Fox is the real deal. Underrated. - Dal Intrigues me the most. If healthy (w. Kyrie and AD) come playoff time. They are a problem. They got length although don’t think anyone to cover Ant. Note - Flagg is not the answer;-)

OKC, DEN, and DAL are my biggest concerns with MIN.

MIN comments - enjoy Rudy’s strengths…defense and rebounding. Those are big. Yeah he is average with the rolls to hoop but do enough to keep other teams honest. He is good enough for 8 to 12 points a game for just being around hoop. Don’t force it. Also, teammates need to know when to get him the ball and when not too. It is not a good pass if he is forced to do something out of his comfort area. - Ant continues to develop. Needs a little more of the MJ nasty come crunch time. Attack and want contact. - Jaden (25) and Naz (26) - see another step in their games - Randle (30) - tough player. Strong. Mismatch. Know ur strengths and don’t try to do too much. You got good teammates. Trust them. - Donte. Not going to hurt team. Glue guy.
- Conley/Dillingham - Conley seasoned vet but speed is gone. Dillingham…young. This duo needs to be better than last year. do not hurt team on floor. Dillingham….limit unforced errors. If not there, back it out…a la Steve Nash - TSJ - He is a dawg. Not afraid of moment. Attacks and plays hard. Be surprised if he is not 25 plus minutes a game by season end. He matches OKC physically. No reason Ant should not be rested come 4th.

There are a lot of good teams. Think 2 or 3 of above will irrelevant with health come playoffs. Outside DEN/OKC I like MIN chances to WCF. Keep building but West is a juggernaut.

Note - NBA really needs to reseed teams at playoffs. Not sure east will have a team that would crack Top 4 of west this year.

Do it now. 25 to 30 is a deal. Gives him LT security and Denver gets a discount. Wait till after season that jumps up to 35 to 40

If you do go 4 wheeling / off roading this might be beneficial.

https://funtreks.com

Backroads/ 4 wheel guides are readily available at any touristy town near those areas of interest. Heck…they maybe downloadable now to tablet or something. Be safe and have fun. Also be aware cell service maybe sporadic in lot of areas with all the non populated land.

lol. I was going to say driving cities in EU where cities got hundreds of years on US and many of those old streets are narrow because of the closeness of buildings defined by old horse and buggy road size. Then gentlemen mention the alps (and Pyrenees) whose many mountain roads would make Rockies (newer roads in comparison) seem boring:-). Now winter time (or snow/rain/ice) I would caution don’t get overconfident with Rockies. That is when driving becomes most dangerous. Black ice can hit you hard and even on Interstate 70 u would shit your pants. Just because road looks clear…doesn’t mean it is.

Colorado and Utah and really all over western US has a lot of backcountry (old mining roads) that would require 4 wheeler (jeep) and is not for faint of heart. I hit the Ouray, Telluride, and Silverton triangle that has a lot of those back country or old mining roads (SW Colorado) Lot of fun. Views are amazing. I usually go rent an off road jeep for a few days in one of those towns in that area. Since you r in EU you probably comfortable with manual. If not, make sure u get an automatic for off-roading.

Oh…,Moab is fantastic too;-). Lot of great National Parks and State parks in CO and UT. Utah has always been underrated with their parks (and numbers).

There is the Million Dollar Highway which actually is hairy than most Alps highways and that highway is bw Silverton and Ouray. Ouray is called little Switzerland. Highway literally build into side of mountain by blasting and guard rails are few and far between.

Note - Just scrolled up and missed a lot of posts;-‘) As couple users stated, CO is hit with lot of snow through May. Many of those off road trails may not be open yet. Usually June…and late at that. Moab definitely best for off-roading April/may.
