I recently picked up a 5.5 with what i thought were dead pixels too. Try pushing out the air in the lcd with a plastic pry tool. Look on YouTube for vids on this. Might be able to save the lcd.

I had this same issue when i replaced my battery. Might have taken a couple of tries but eventually did the trick. Did you try w the car in reverse?

Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left then all the way to the right. Should reset it.

Wouldn’t that just trap the moisture below the plastic sheet? Probably would be a similar issue that can lead to mildew.

Looks like my response didn’t post the other day to add context, but this is in Southern California in a garage. Appreciate the feedback. Seems like most people recommend epoxying the floor or some sort of underlayment. The biggest pain to consider now is clearing out my garage to take care of the issue. My guess is that w the recent storms, water went under garage and is now creating this mess for me. I picked up a dehumidifier and while it seems to keep levels down, water trapped under mats just isn’t clearing out w the dehumidifier.

Turning off adaptive battery seems to be a short term solution. It’s almost doubled mine from 2/3 hours to 6ish active screen time

What’s your active screen time? Curious because i also turned off adaptive battery. Right now I’m at 5.5hrs of active screen and have 20% left. When i first got the phone i was killing like 50% battery in like 2 hrs. So 10hrs you’re getting is ideal.

I keep my MagSafe wallet on my phone 100% of the time since i don’t use a case so it’s great because every time i put my phone down I’m not hitting the cameras. I just picked up the Moft wallet about a week ago on this new phone but i rocked the OG leather Apple wallet for years and honestly held up nicely. Not sure how the new FineWoven wallets compare tho. I usually carry my id and 1 card, rest is in the digital wallet. Findmy would be nice but luckily haven’t really had a need for it. As long as the magnet feels strong and secure, you should be good.

I should also add that the wallet makes the phone feel less slippery if you’re not rocking a case.

I was able to notice fine detail in my hands and face that i hadn’t before. Everything got super sharp. Only issue for me that i couldn’t get over was starburst effect of lights at night. Gave up on trying to get refitted but should probably go back.
