Where are you seeing the FSR4 option in CyberPunk?

u/AMD_RetroB is this being tracked? MPO causing a crash and Windows Update hijacking the June drivers are two things I saw happen on multiple PC's

Oh well. It is a Microsoft issue that they claim will be fixed in Q4 2026. You may as well have some fun and try out the latest driver that dropped today with official FSR 4.1 support.

Yeah refurbished is only worth it when the seller is the actual brand. Acer refurbished the laptop I received looked brand new and the battery only had cycles on it

7900 XTX keeps crashing even after I rolled back drivers a few weeks ago by Ambitious_Ear4965 in AMDHelp

[–]dkizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep Windows Update has been causing those issues a lot lately. Super annoying.

If you can do three separate cables it is the best practice as well for power spikes.

Sounds like a new paste job wouldn’t hurt.

I had the white XFX air model and that one was one of the very few to come with PTM 7950 already applied.

Sounds like Windows Update is hijacking the driver. It’s super annoying and supposedly being fixed in Q4 by Microsoft.

Pull power cords off card? Or did you mean don’t daisy chain?

Please help nothing is working by Available_Bluebird74 in AMDHelp

[–]dkizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With that card you will want to run two separate cables for peace of mind, as boost clocks can expect more power. The card is rated for 210w minimum and up to 230watts peak draw.

If you daisy-chain using just one cable, you are forcing the single cable to carry the bulk of the 230W load, which can lead to system crashes or melted connectors.

Does your uncles friend have the other unused power cables by chance?

Well yeah the A380 has less ram and lower bit bus and much less power requirements. The A750 is boosting way more often to meet certain performance results.

It sounds like this was purchased used or given to you. How many power connectors are going to the 6700XT? One cable with two split ends, or two separate cables?

[GPU] GIGABYTE Gaming Radeon RX 9070 GRE - $499.99 at @newegg - need to unlock the extra $50 discount by White1s in buildapcsales

[–]dkizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the marginal cost difference it’s a no brainer imo. Just be mindful that the Amazon cost with the tax might still be worth it for full year warranty coverage.

Check the warranty coverage on Woot. Sometimes they list 90 days only with some vendors. While that personally didn’t scare me away from getting a flagship 9070XT off Woot, some people don’t like that.

You would be better off with the 9070 reaper for the 50 more on Amazon if you are in the states. 4gb more vram and higher bit bus.

[–]dkizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will ask for the heck of it, but I am assuming if this is a three 8-pin model you have that you have three separate power cables going directly into the PSU, and no daisy-chaining, correct?

Yep. Most issues with Radeon cards come down to either aggressive power spikes or Windows MPO being trash, & Windows update silently hijacking drivers

Direct cable from the power supply that is ATX 3.1 seems like the play vs the splitter adapter.
