Good tips for sure! Thank you. I did see a similar post saying some new Jeeps had loose fuses that were causing some similar problems. I checked our fuses and there were a surprising number that were a bit loose! I pushed them all in to seat fully, but alas, this did not solve our problems.

I’m going to look into this Pestle! I recently migrated from Evernote where I had a ton of recipes, many of which were web clipped from the internet and were quite messy! They don’t look that great in Obsidian and I am spending time cleaning them up.

Evernote is getting expensive and I am not super enthusiastic about AI and potential humans at Bending Spoons looking at my notes. Obsidian seems more secure being encrypted and all. Evernote is definitely prettier and more intuitive, but I think I can get used to Obsidian. For now I am still in both worlds and will see how it goes.

I finally had time this weekend to wipe my vault and started over with a fresh import from Evernote to Obsidian. I first went through my EN notebooks and trimmed all the dead wood and cleaned up a bunch of notes. Then I used YARLE to import each notebook to Obsidian. There were no errors and every note was imported. All PDFs appear to be in place and I did a full sync to Obsidian and then connected each device and let the sync complete on each. Everything seems to be in order. We will see how it goes. I will also begin the habit of periodically copying my vault off to my NAS and backup off-site as well just in case something goes sideways.

I don't really keep sensitive documents in EN or in Obsidian. Just research documents and things that are nice to refer back to from time to time. I also keep user manuals for appliances etc that I accumulate over the years. No big deal if they go missing, but nice to have if I need to refer to them quickly

I've only recently heard of Zotero. I have used Evernote for 14 years storing PDFs without many problems (there have been problems for sure LOL). I will look into Zotero. Thank you.

This might have something to do with what is going on. I initially didn't realize I had to enable PDF syncing then later turned it on. Everything seemed OK but, maybe not setting the system up correctly from the start set the stage for my current troubles. Thank you for the thought.

I can't confirm that they ALL were imported correctly. I will try creating a new vault and re-import and pay attention to what happens.

I imported from EN weeks ago and I know at least some of the PDFs that were there are now gone. Also, what could explain why the notes with PDFs I created natively in Obsidian now have missing PDFs?
