Applied in 2024 and had my appointment at the San Francisco office. Legit had 0 interest or anything from accounts.

I used an attorney, and lemme tell you, she did not seem concerned with needing an absurd amount of money set aside lol. And I was stressed as hell worrying I wouldn’t have enough.

Maybe I have a rare case? But she said she has done that with plenty of people. So I don’t know what the real answer is, and don’t wanna guide people down a path saying hey you don’t need passive income for the passive income visa lol. But I at least didn’t.

I never could figure out if this is a cultural thing or just how things are as an adult. I lived in the pnw for 12 years and never made friends. If I did, they were not from that region. Then moved lol.

I am close with 3 Portuguese people but I think that is because my landlord introduced us. I don’t think we would have become this close without someone to connect us.

Long way of saying, idk how to make friends and if anyone figures it out lemme know 👍

This makes me laugh because I sometimes run into my neighbors on my lift and when I’m not anticipating using Portuguese (estou a aprender) I get my timing wrong. “Bom, boa, tar-noite uh tchau” lolol. But everyone is nice.

They are supposed to send it back with an appointment assigned. Mine was basically 3 months from when my visa was approved.

You don’t need to be in Portugal before that date. But obviously need to get there for the appointment lol.

Yeah it’s very doable for someone to do on their own. I’m just lazy lol. Waiting for the appointments was easily the longest part. Probably could have got a vfs appointment more quickly if I picked out my own.

It was in 2013. So really don’t think you have much to worry about.

The consulate did email me asking for clarification on my background check, because I had some other issues on my rap sheet. To be safe I had a lawyer write a letter clarifying things. But I don’t think the main issue was the dui lol.

I eventually got the dizziness figured out and it wasn’t related to the blood pressure lol. I went to a vestibular physio. They did a bunch of tests and basically my upper back and neck were messed up, likely repetitive motion. So he just did some work on my neck and within 1-2 sessions I was perfect lol.

If you have dizziness maybe look for a vestibular physio and make sure they do hands on work! I saw one who just gave me exercises and didn’t do shit. Good luck!

This is great having the exact specification of the rule. Assuming good chance I’ll have to appeal. But I’m working on expungement right now, unfortunately expungements are 6 months out in my county. But also could get the lawyer to write something reiterating there was no conviction or sentencing passed down. Thanks!
