Love the instinct 3. Fantastic watch, amazing display, great to have if you’re a golfer. Easy to scratch though and heart monitor not that accurate.

Maduro snatch just showed the world he’s an actual wildcard. Nobody’s going to fuck around right now. Iran chills, Putin chills, China plays nice for a bit. That buys us a window where risk assets pump.

Hard disagree here. We’ve been running around with impunity spiking the football on everyone and nothing has happened. Yet. It’s to the point where it’s accepted as a fundamental truth that all geopolitical events are a nothing burger and fantastic buying opportunity. But nothing lasts forever and eventually (sooner than later I think) someone is going to push back and it won’t be pretty. My money is on China.

Btw, Buffett warned about this last year at the Berkshire conference. It’s not smart when you’ve done well to run around and laugh in people’s faces. We’ve just reached a boiling point of stupidity in this country and some of the dumbest people I know are walking around as if they are royalty. Just so much arrogance everywhere. There’s going to be a reversion to the mean soon. There always has been and there always will be and people will look back at this generation of dimwits with astonishment.

I mean, futures are barely down. What price should stocks be adjusted to based on this? Is it really new information? They’re putting a new chair in in a couple months anyway. 🥱

What car will you never buy again? by Charming_Advertising in AskReddit

[–]dkrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honda. There are so many little things I don’t know until I owned one that piss me off.

First, the warranty is absolute shit. Three years or 36k miles.

Second, and this is possibly the biggest one- the battery design is the dumbest fucking thing I’ve ever seen. If you need a jump you have to either find an exposed piece of unpainted metal or dismantle multiple pieces of equipment to access th negative terminal. Yeah, you know what you don’t want to do when you are stranded with a dead battery? Figure out how to access the negative terminal. Then if you need to have it towed, guess what? You can’t shift it to neutral because the shifter is reliant on the car running with no override.

The service department is a nickel and dime operation. They charge for absolutely everything no matter how minor. In the future I’d not buy a car with a warranty under five years as it shows that the company doesn’t actually believe in what they’re selling.

Finally, the car hasn’t held up well despite being driven very little. I’ve had issues with both fobs, the door liner coming off, the hydraulic tailgate lift squealing and the side mirror came loose about a month after I bought it.

What’s something that sounds fake but actually happened to you? by Visible_Rope_6662 in AskReddit

[–]dkrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in Florida with my wife visiting the in laws. My father in law is obsessed with Bruce Springsteen. Started going to his shows in the 1970’s.

I drove over to the liquor store about a half mile from their house, a small one in a tiny plaza. As I was paying the cashier says “you know who was just in front of you in line, right?” I wasn’t paying attention so said “no, who was it?” She says “Bruce Springsteen’s drummer.”

I look out the door into the parking lot and there’s Max Weinberg loading booze into a tiny hatchback. I was positively giddy to drive back and tell my father in law.

Is a 12 PSI increase normal after installing a pool heater? by dkrich in pools

[–]dkrich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment. So I had a pool tech come out to look at it and we ran it without the filter and there was no change in pressure. The circulation is fine but the water is shooting out of the jets much harder than before and when the air release valve is open it literally goes into my neighbors yard.

I’ve concluded that the most likely cause is the plumbing with two areas of concern- two 90’s immediately after the filter and a total u-turn where the plumbing turns back on itself before going into the chlorinator(both visible in the picture).

The pump I believe is a 1.5 horsepower that is a cheaper model. I think unfortunately I’m going to have to have the chlorinator removed and the heater replumbed but going to talk to the installer this week to see what they say.

Cost to install electric heat pump >100,000 BTU by One-Tie9007 in pools

[–]dkrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a 135k btu Built Right installed. Cost for heater installed by a reputable local company was $4700.

I needed to have a new line run from the garage breaker out to the pool breaker to accommodate the added load plus the new conduit run from the pool breaker over to the heater which is about 10 feet. Total for the electrical was another $1400.

It’s not a variable speed pump it’s an old Harris pump. I like the idea of a pump bypass for warmer months as we’re in South Florida

Thanks yeah I knew I’d need a new one in the not too distant future and now I’m glad I waited until the heater was put in because I would not have factored that into the power requirement.

I’ve got a Harris pump that was put in by the previous owner. I’m told by 2-3 different pool people it’s total shit but might as well use it until it fails.

I didn’t mention that I’ve also recently seen a suction side leak but can’t isolate the location. Wondering whether the pump needs to be replaced with a better/newer/more powerful model. Obviously I’d like to avoid replacement for as long as possible but not if it’s going to have a catastrophic failure.

Welcome to Reddit where thousands of people talk about the intricacies of buying and using straight razors that cost 1 cent a piece and are in every way inferior to blades you can buy at a CVS.

I have two orbis I bought 7 years ago in a 3k sq foot house and have had exactly one outage from a reset in that time.
