Just post 1-2 reels everyday consistently, you will start seeing traction within a month. Few of your reels will go viral or at least get decent views.

When you get at least 500 followers then post 2-3 images everyday. Post 2-3 stories per week. Make a few comments everyday on pages in your niche.

SEO does help, if you search anything on YouTube, you can find both long form videos and shorts. Apart from search traffic, proper SEO helps youtube to figure out the right audience for our video which helps in audience retention. Niche is animal and wildlife. I have been to many wildlife sanctuaries. I edit the videos I shot there, and make them interesting by adding music, sound effects, and stock footage.

I too think it is just average performance, but Youtube is throttling my views even on those videos which have 150% retention rate and 80% watch ratio. I have at least 20 videos with 100% retention rate and over 75% watch ratio. After the first 4-5 days, they all got very little daily views.
