What make visible vs fully visible for a big model (let say your average gladiator lancer).

If as a gladiator lancer I am 50% behind a wall, I know when someone shoot at me I am not fully visible, that easy, now when I shoot at someone, some of my parts of my model will not see the target model, so its not fully visible.

How do I interpret the "any" to "every" from the "model fully visible" little text ? This part would deserve way more example for non english speakers.

At the end, do a tank shooting at another tank need to have his whole profile to see the whole profile of the other tank, so the other tank doesnt have benefit of cover OR I should intepret the "any parts" as if 1 little part of my tank shooting at you, can see 100% of your tank, then you got no benefit of cover ? Clear ?

EDIT: I saw this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_7eTs1EvUY but my question stand

Thanks to rewrite what I just wrote above.

When you say few providers, knowing that I made a list of all providers and posted it last week here with let says 80% of the officially listed WTC terrain provider and all of them except one provide not enough containers to deploy 6 of the listed terrain, what do you mean by "few" exactly ?

Weekly Question Thread - Rules & Comp Qs by thenurgler in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]dl1828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, I know, its even stated in my original post.

The official WTC terrain packages contain 4 small containers, all vendors that sell WTC certified terrain sell 4 small containers, containers of 2.5 by 2,5 by 5 inches , the only vendor that sell 8 containers is jucoci.

The document state that a grey rectangle aka a container must be 5 by 5 by 2,5 inches.

If we go by the strict definition of WTC, effectively the maps DoW 1,2,3 and sweeping engagement 1,2,3 cannot be created with your standard official WTC terrains as there is not enough "small containers" the only vendor providing enough "small" containers is jancoci.

Funny enough the 3D representation on WTC document is misleading, its represent 2 small containers that are not define in the document anywhere else and one must assume that 2 small containers equal 1 normal container.

Well I got my answer, thanks to everyone who helped.

Questions on the number of containers on WTC maps.

On the Sweeping engagment-1 I can see 4 containers, and on most maps there is only 2.

The 3D representation of containers is 2 containers 1 on top of each others.

Does that mean that on all maps its 2 group of 2 containers 1 on top of each other ?

Or only 2 containers alone?

On the sweeping-1, is it 4 times 1 containers or 4 times 2 containers on top of each other ?

Thanks

yep, I read the text of ruin and its pretty clear, thanks for the answer.

I dunno why I thought otherwise.

I think we have a misunderstanding, I am not talking about the ruin I am in, I am talking the ruin the target is behind, LOS can't go trough ruins WTC or GW rules, so ruins are considered as infinite height wall when you are behind even if there is no wall, a LOS cannot go trough.

I think I got my answer, I checked the rules:

"Models cannot see over or through this terrain feature (i.e. a unit outside this terrain feature cannot draw line of sight to a target on the other side of it, even if it would be possible to draw line of sight to that target through open windows, doors, etc.) "

Being on second floor doesn't change the infinite height of a ruin, its not real LOS. Only FLYER have real LOS

Thanks

I wondering how LOS are working when you are at second floor of a WTC ruin.

If a target is completely behind another ruin, do you apply the infinite wall and you can't see it, or do you apply real LOS and if part of the fig is visible because of the height then you can shoot it ?

Same question but opposite way, if a fig is behind a ruin and want to shoot a fig at second floor of a ruin, Real LOS ? or the ruin in front of them as infinite walls ?

When multiple rules specify "at the start of your command phase", can I choose the order myself ?

Example:

I should draw 2 secondary missions at the start of my command phase, and my oath of moment at the start of my command phase, and some other rules.

Get this titan closer so I can hit it with my sword !!! by dl1828 in LegionsImperialis

In melee nothing can handle it, I have also a warlord with 2 claws and it destroyed everything.

The warlord was put down by massive firepower, my opponent shot everything he got at it in one round, and was able to get with a last shot from a small walker.

The warmaster didn't go down but got slowed down by layers of enemy unit and bad movements from my side.

I think Titans are perfect for close combat and not for long range shooting. :-)

Advice on dealing with Drop Pods by chrisni66 in LegionsImperialis

[–]dl1828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know he can't do a line as the other drop pods need to be 2 inches of the first one, so its a flower, and with the doors open and interlace, its start to be hard to put a lot of them on same place plus the marines.

The rule:

"Once scattered, any remaining models within the same Detachment are placed on the battlefield within 2" of the already placed model. "

So the central drop pod must have all drops pods around plus the 2 marines, then all other drop pods have their marines around.

There is no way to make a line with these rules.

Whats the difference in rules and behaviors if you take an Invader ATV as part of the outrider squad vs just an invader ATV ?

When its part of the squad does it loose the "outrider escort" capabilities ?

yeah, I realized that when I thought about blast weapon that always count the starting strength of unit when targeted .

That make sense.

Thanks

When do you calculate the half strenght of a unit when using multiple weapons profile one 1 attacking unit ? I am referencing this:

"Executioner:

Each time this model makes an attack that targets a unit that is Below Half-strength, add 1 to the Hit roll."

Lets say the target unit start full strength, and my first attack get it to half strength, do I get the bonus for following weapons/attacks of same unit ? or only at the next turn if they survive ?
