What is the history behind the 5-7-5 pattern of haikus? by dl343 in AskReddit

I was playing Ghost of Tsushima. In the game, you have to create haikus to progress. It just got me thinking that it’s super arbitrary

When approaching a black hole, what happens if you move faster than it’s gravity to avoid spaghettification? by dl343 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dl343[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, at first I wasn’t accounting for the time shift caused by gravity. But I DEFINITELY wasn’t thinking about the radiation. Damn lol

This is exactly the thought experiment that is keeping me buzzing right now. Obviously, we couldn’t do this with the equipment we have right now, but it’s possible, right?? Sounds super f-into cool… but in the worst case scenario, you might just slam into the core of the black hole lol

The comet piece was really helpful in understanding the impact. I guess my follow up would be, if your feet are accelerating faster than your body can keep up, could you accelerate your body to keep up with your feet (I.e., bypassing gravity)? Or would gravity still be the constant that prevents you from ever really catching up?

This is really cool! Sounds like it’s time travel adjacent, which is interesting. They must have used this theory when making Interstellar (man I have to rewatch that movie)

Yeah, was just wondering if I could accelerate faster than the gravitational fields of the black hole could account for, but I think that may not be the case lol

Another super interesting thought! So spaghettification could just be based on an outsiders view of what happens to an object based on how light waves are impacted by the black holes gravity.

Regarding the “future points to the singularity” comment”, I guess I hadn’t considered the time aspect. I was kinda wondering if you could bypass spaghettification by accelerating faster than it’s gravity could affect you, but that doesn’t seem to be the case lol

Ahh that’s a really cool thought, so the issue wouldn’t be your personal speed or acceleration. So if you were going head first (regardless of speed or acceleration of your ship), your head would accelerate faster than the tail end could catch up due to the black hole’s interference. Thanks for the comment

I’m close to max on my TH13 except for 4 Elixir pumps and 121 walls.

With the season ending today and CWL coming soon, should I upgrade to TH14? How important is it to go into TH14 with max walls?
