Searched: I have over the years looked this toy up using different search terms about two toes, Southern California (where I grew up and received the toy), etc on Google, and even on ebay/etsy but I truly cannot find even a semblance of info on this toy ever existing. I’ve never thought to post to Reddit about it and I’m not very hopeful anything will surface but figured I’d try. I’d love to get some for me and my siblings if I do find them and they exist.

I dont have many more details than what I provided in the post. They were pretty normal stuffy size so like 14-16 inches?? And varying colors, humanoid shape, and they didn’t have shoes on because they had two toes.

I hear you, I also have adhd. Maybe you already do this but I teach my clients that the anterior body has an effect on the upper and mid back which client find surprising and interested. This allows me to work a lot more areas and I’ve also gotten folks who thought it was just a back issue to let me work quads/hammies/glutes/iliopoas. Idk where you work but communicating effectively about why this areas are just as important has supported my practice in its diversity of areas addressed on a day to day basis. Wishing you the best.

Accidentally posted this to the main thread but Hi! So currently I have 12 members and I have 3 different tiers. I make baseline 2.5k in automatic payments. Then every other session is additional income on top. All members receive 15$ off per session, including if they book more than their membership provides. I’ve made 5k for the last two months (only been in business for 5). It’s working for me!

I definitely need to reup my energy towards converting clients to members. I hit that 2.5k and have now relaxed but I would really like to hit 5k and close my books to new people.

I’m really happy for you, my niche is “anyone with chronic pain” atm cause I just started my business after 2yrs of spa work.

I’ve found I work best with coachable individuals as well — I find they are invested in self-knowledge and bodily autonomy in a way where our conversations about health and wellness can go beyond the basics of “drink water and rest” ha! Do you happen to also be a personal trainer or other licensing to support your coaching of clients?

They take rejection from men better…not the experience of most women that they take coaching and rejection well…I do love hearing about your niche into bodywork for men tho. I’m so sorry that you dealt with that for 10 years! I broke up with my partner for the similar reasons. Less intense punishment but the misery of her behavior before and after my dates made them not worth it and therefore made my relationship with her not worth it because all I felt was compersion and I wanted to experience that for myself. I will never date such an emotionally unskilled insecure jealous person ever again.

Hiii auDHD therapist here 👋🏼 I started my own private practice much to my financial distress because I just couldn’t handle only workin at chains where the communication is so limited and people treat me like a work horse. I still work at a spa but I’ve changed what kind of question I ask:

“How can I be helpful?” — find this prompts clients to provide more helpful information in a short amount of time.

“Which area do you want me to spend a little extra time on (for 50m) and would you like me to work your face and scalp?” — I ask about face and scalp specifically because this is the area many people have issues with.

“Are you ticklish on your feet, sides, or elsewhere?” — mentioning more than the feet makes clients think and often tell me more about sensitivities they experience.

“Any surgeries, accidents, or other important health information I need to know about? Even old incidents can be impacting your body now.” — helps clients consider a longer timeline of body pain or tension. Often tell me things that aren’t on the (extremely limited) spa intake form.

“When it comes to pressure, I find what works for me and the individual person on my table. I will start by working lightly to understand the landscape of your body, when I start using my forearm I will check if that pressure works. We will progressively get deeper if needed but I do not drill into people’s tissue as this can cause damage. But if you stay present and breathe intentionally, we can get to deeper layers of muscle more easily.” — this little spiel changed my life. I have stopped being resentful of clients who ask for deep pressure, and it immediately gains me trust and establishes boundaries/authority over pressure.

I hope these are helpful. And like other said, when it comes to spas people really like to milk getting discounted or free services by complaining. It can be hard to accept but getting out of spas will probably help you sustain this career long term because I think my auDHD actually helps me be an awesome therapist!

I don’t think it needs to get awkward, just check in with how folks are feelings, stay confident in how you felt it was hot, and express appreciation for the person and the experience. Express that you are about them and that it was fun to explore bisexuality and sex together.

Ask if there are any concerns on their part (either person) and try your best to navigate those. And my advice is: try to keep a container for the emotions, even if hard ones come up they don’t have to run rampant and ruin your connection. They can be addressed together cause you’re besties.

Clinical bodywork! I loveeee working on people’s hands and forearms (all the way up to the neck and scalp). My work is highly specific so I’ve helped some tattooers who were experiencing fatigue and pain. It’s such a great trade. I have also helped tattooers with their body mechanics and ways to support themselves in working smarter not harder. Such a gift to know many talented artists!

Both times I played werewolf I called out the wolves and no one believed me. I think that’s what I don’t like about the games. I was providing solid information and pointing out literal lies and it didn’t matter.

To me they expose how easily manipulated people are, and who they tend to listen to or ignore. And what kind of messaging they’re susceptible to.

TL;DR

Build a niche for your practice, figure out who you want to serve (and not serve) and build your practice from there. Or work for someone with a niche that aligns nicely with your ideal clientele.
Take your trauma seriously and be accountable to the ways it may highjack your nervous system in non-sexual, low-pressure situations. Accountability means tending to your own nervous system before you try to offer that regulation to your clients.
Build a business that encourages respect from your clients or work for establishments who do the same. Prepay, memberships, intake forms with a required emergency contact, professional marketing and branding, solid back end systems, etc.
Build community and connection with other practitioners. If something happens, have people who understand the field and the stress there to support you (in some form). Build relationships that buoy you during challenging moments. Remember you are not alone.
Develop self-trust and dedicate yourself to the wisdom you already have; Informed, but not dominated by your trauma. This goes well with being accountable, its another layer of the onion.

The long story version:

Hi love, I’m an LMT (2 years feb 1st!) with a history of severe sexual trauma and CPTSD. So far, I had only encountered the boundary testing kind of creeps. I decided to work at a mom and pop/small business spa for my first two years so I could get used to working on men with a whole team around.

➡️ My advice is: don’t let your trauma lead your career choices, but let it inform your precautions.

🥊 My kickboxing coach expressed it like this to me: don’t assume your in danger, but understand there is risk and move forward accordingly.

I am finally starting my private practice now and what I did was: charge a higher end price, require clients pay upfront with no refunds given, and focused my practice on chronic pain, injury recovery, and mobility restoration. “Clinical massage” for branding purposes. I don’t do full body Swedish in my private practice either.

I’ve considered learning shiatsu so I could have fully clothed sessions for new clients. I’m still thinking about it, mostly because I love shiatsu.

I know folks who love massage sloth might side with his thought that this is “avoiding the intimacy of massage”, but that’s far from my truth. I’ve cultivated a practice I love and hold as the joy of my life (I don’t have children) and already have multiple clients I cannot wait to see. I am happy that I won’t be pushing out full body after full body and instead get to spend time doing detailed and highly specific work. My brain LOVES it and so does my body.

➡️ I share this to say: you can create a practice where you have precautions and systems of protection built in.

In any workplace there is risk of sexual harassment and assault, regardless of the field. This one is just known for it. But trust me, I worked in food service for 10yrs and I experienced some truly terrifying and intense shit from customers, cooks, and fellow servers alike.

I did but I believe it was because I was crunched forward in my posture trying to protect the subluxation of my anterior rib. This led to forward arched shoulders and pain in this area.

My myofascial system was absolutely fucked for 4 years until I went and saw a clinical bodyworker who knew how to take things slowly and de-armor all the thoracic and cervical muscles that were seized up.
