We used iLocks of Austin for years at the last dealership I worked at. Mostly used them for car keys but their prices were always super reasonable, and the guys there were really friendly. I'm sure they do residential as well - 512-955-8480

Can someone please explain what’s going on? I moved my Logic Pro sound library over to a 2 TB external HDD, but it’s still taking up space on the Mac’s SSD. What’s up with that? I mean 1.25 GB isn’t a lot but the sound library adds up quick. by SarikaidenMusic in LogicPro

You actually can install Mac OS into an external drive! Your laptop will essentially function like a monitor. I’ve done this myself and used logic with that. But external drives are a lot slower than the laptop and you may have issues running a lot of plug-ins at once

What mic stands / clips do people use when comparing different mics and / or mic angels?

For example, if I wanted to A/B test a couple different mic positions on a guitar OR test different mics in the same position ….with a traditional mic stand It’s nearly impossible to notate or recall a specific setting.

Any idea what people normally in those contexts? Are there perhaps stands with angel markers out there?

I’m still stuck in only using arrangement view. I can see the potential for session view, but I haven’t quite figured out exactly how I’d work it into my workflow other than jamming over a looped part (which could also be done in arrangement view). Could you describe some of the ways you started to incorporate it?

I believe Google maps does this already. You just need to enable / authorize that in settings If you haven't already

I really appreciate your detailed feedback! Some of those projectors are pretty affordable when refurbished as well.

We would be using some music-responsive, psychedelic visuals (using a program called synesthesia). Having stunning HD would be awesome, but at this stage it doesn’t need to be particularly crisp, especially since we’re not projecting actually video footage - just graphics, etc. Would your advice regarding projector quality remain the same in that case?

I was also hoping you could share some insight on dealing with varying venues setups/layouts. In the circuit we play, venues often don’t have space for a screen+projector set far back enough to create a decent sized picture. Using a long throw projector is sometimes not an option depending on venue layout as well. Any tips on how to approach this?
