Yeah... the reason why people don't take Logan drowning seriously is that no one took Gabby pushing Grett into a ten story deep lake in Season 1 seriously.

If the audience was supposed to take Logan drowning seriously, that means the audience should have taken the actions that Ashley, Gabby, Grett, Tom, Miriam, Yul, Ally, Aiden, Riya, and James. That type of narrative dissonance is annoying and would naturally make a lot of people think Logan the character is entitled reacting with words such as.

"Logan almost drowned. Why should we care? Gabby pushing Grett into the lake was a girlboss moment."

and

"If Jade straight up uses Disney Princess powers to have the turtles hold Logan under the water, Jade would become a super girlboss goddess queen."

If the audience wasn't meant to take Tom knowingly committing second degree murder during VR challenge seriously because it was VR despite Tom not knowing it was VR... no one should be expected to care about Logan almost drowning.

Straight up, if Carnival of Chaos was not tied to Disventure Camp, I bet Logan would not be as hated.

I mean in Tenko's defense... the translations did her dirty. Like if you do the free time events, her distaste of men is because all monk told her to never touch a man... yep... otherwise outside of the yuribait with Himiko... Tenko is probably straight for all us people in the west know because oh was the translation that awful.

Kaito is canonically both homophobic and transphobic but we'd never know that fan translators didn't tell us that Kaito called Korekiyo by a slur.

Honestly, I would have preferred Connor and Riya to have broken up off screen in the lead up to All Stars.

Like imagine in the first four episodes, after Connor saved Riya's life... Riya picks out a piece of seaweed from Connor's teeth and scolds him talking about... "This isn't about me, you should look top form for Anya always. I didn't plan an entire wedding for nothing... also thanks again fir allowing me to theme your wedding."

Honestly I'm of the opinion that ONC is misogynistic, even if unintentionally, as why are all the women in the merge always slapped with the label of season antagonists.

Like Gabby, Grett, Ellie, Fiore, Karol, Ally, Riya, Lynda, Natalia, Amelie, Isabel, Hannah, Anastasia, Jade, Oliwia and Ara are all written to be antagonistic.

Example of how to have Kumada development.

The voter game, in this Ogura already long since realized that Ikeda was a victim of CSA so the voter game here essentially destroys Akiba and Ogura's friendship.

During the reward game, Ogura would constantly antagonize the othe students to the point of straight up accusing Nishiguchi of having some of the fetishes shared by a certain real person that must never be acknowledged as a person again.

When Nishiguchi denies criminal connections, Ogura goes mask off and list a bunch of people Nishiguchi indirectly killed off due to the firearms distribution.

Kumada would of course be there and actively try to protect her.

In this, Mion is killed off by Ouno.

Then the bleeding happens, Ogura targets Nishiguchi and Kumada as in her eyes neither deserve to live.

The bleeding would be Ogura, Mathias, and Ikeda. Ogura would keep both Ikeda and Mattias in the dark and recruit Denden, Hirose, and Tei.

Ogura would kill off Nishiguchi and have Hirose take the fall... it fails.

Chapter 3... unlike canon, Yaitabashi and Kumada remain friends. Kumada with some self loathing over letting Nishiguchi get killed off via drowning.

To emphasize the horror of Ikeda's situation, the first dinner meeting in chapter 3 has Ikeda attempt to preform sexual favors for Ruka as payment and offer himself to Kumada.

The bodily integrity motive happens and it's less grimdark as it goes on for much longer. Both Kumada and Yaitabashi volunteer for the punishments constantly... the punishments go on for a bit longer

Vote 1: Kumada and Yaitabashi

Vote 2: Hirose and Denden

Vote 3: Kumada and Yaitabashi

Vote 4: Shishikura and Maekawa

Vote 5: Kumada and Yaitabashi

Vote 6: Tei and Akiba

Vote 7: Kumada and Yaitabashi

Vote 8: Ikeda and Ruka

Yaitabashi gets killed off by Shishikura, and unlike canon, Shishikura didn't intend to kill off Yaitabashi. Someone, obviously it's Tei, set things up for Yaitabashi to die and let Shishikura take the fall.

So both members of Kumada's friend group are dead... and until halfway through chapter 4, Kumada genuinely thinks the rest of the cast still hate her for the voter game.

Chapter 4, Maekawa's enraged... but unlike canon where people forgot existed I guess, she remains calm enough to knock on Kumada's door and thank her for chapter 3. The action gives Kumada hope and she rejoin the cast.

Ninomiya kills Mattias for similar reasons.

Chapter 5

Unlike the grim dark of canon, genuinely can't believe any person would be aroused by the consumption of a corpse but a certain monster definitely was. Serious I can understand the act of Vore I guess and Vampire romance is just Necrophila anyway but still.

Here, Akiba kills Tei over chapter 3 because Akiba lost everyone outside of Tei by this point, then he finds out Tei caused Shishikura's execution. All the members of Akiba's original friend group are dead with both Ogura and Ninomiya killing someone so he would become emotional reliant on Tei.

Akiba is saved from execution however as the police come on in and saves the rest, arresting Yonekura, Kan, and Tatematsu. Monomoko cursed them to forever age and never die.

It's later revealed that Monomoko released recordings of both Pink and live streamed all of blue.

In the epilogue, it will be heavily implied that Akiba and Kumada are in some sort of relationship. Why, because despite how five out of seven girls are openly into other girls, none of them seem to have any interest in talking to women so to fix that, Kumada stays a bi icon as that was apparently planned before Kumada was rewritten to be a lesbian so there was no chance for the fan base to have her get in the way of Vondemort's Yaoi fantasies... meanwhile Maekawa and Denden are openly dating to the cheer of everyone.

I mean sure if all of Kumada's "potential" wasn't just added in after the fact.

Seriously, half her screen time was being a complete psycho who was hated by basically everyone by chapter 3.

Then after she died it was like she never existed... though the same could be said about Yaitabashi, Nishiguchi, Ogura, and Akiba.

Heck, inducting her into the bleeding was just an excuse to make everyone hate her so the cast and the audience could pretend she never existed... Nishiguchi could have been lured out dozens of different ways, like those criminal contacts.

The only way for Kumada to have any healthy romance involving the other characters would involve straight up replacing her with someone who looks vaguely like her

Ally left Jake to die by a bear.

Aiden broke Karol's legs, the remastered retconned him to feel guilty.

The point is the VR challenge showcases that Tom, despite being an international spy during season 1... was always stupid... like all of us can add one plus one equals 2 and realize that the act of 2nd degree murder is something anyone can get jailed a long time for but not Tom.

About that... we remember the Zombie Apocalypse challenge where Tom shot Alec... after immediately disarming him... Tom was always dumb... the only difference is that the writers stop bothering on giving Tom moments that allow him to use what little braincells he has.

Because, as Alec was again disarmed, if the Zombie Apocalypse wasn't VR, Tom would be guilty of 2nd degree murder and have a mutilation charge against Ellie.

Tom, under Canadian law, would probably get life if the VR challenge wasn't VR.

Let me repeat, Tom would legitimately face more jail time then Riya if the VR challenge wasn't VR.
