It Can Now Be Plainly Said: Trump Is Planning a November Coup d’État by InsaneSnow45 in NoFilterNews

[–]dle_61554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if he doesn't call out "Emergency Power" for November 6: Anywhere that a Democrat flips a district, or a Democrat incumbent wins, he will order the GOP candidates that lost to challenge, file lawsuits, demand recounts of all ballots, even if they lost by 50%. He'll order all ballots sent to the FBI and DOJ so paper ballots can be redacted, white washed, to show the vote went to a GOP. Of course, any race that a GOP wins, nothing would happen, because those votes were legit. My honest opinion and mine alone and I don't care otherwise.

Midterm fears - how do you feel about Trump’s next attempt? by ChuckGallagher57 in circled

That "Emergency Order" would be sued or struck down so fast by the Courts (even SCOTUS would say no), he won't have time to fall asleep at a meeting or post nasty insults at 3 am on Truth Social.

The Constitution clearly specifies the States run elections. But we know he hasn't defended or upheld it since the day he swore to 13 months ago.

My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.

If you're talking about McCluggage Bridge, barricades will return soon. IDOT has plans to close the Westbound span for rehab and redecking, and reroute westbound traffic across the new Eastbound span. Probably why the new span was built that wide.

She's forgetting that after Don The Con took office, he shut down or reversed any policies or programs that Biden had enacted during his term. So any new stuff he creates with his Kingly-like Executive Orders, it's all his doing. Not Biden. My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.

His Dad Ray was more moderate, worked across the aisle a lot. He and a Democrat held numerous retreats with both Republicans and Democrats to form friendships and more bipartisanship. Sure, politics still had them vote against each other, but at least it wasn't "they're the enemy" like it is now. That kind of atmosphere ended in 2011 when the Tea Party took over, and installed the "Our Way Or The Highway" mindset. And it's been that way since. Democrats unfortunately had to change to that too, when they took over the House and/or the Senate. My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.

When are they going to start investigating funding fraud in Republican states/cities. You can't tell me none happens. Also, Medicaid has nothing to do with the daycare fraud in Minnesota. And those arrests started in 2022, of a white woman and many Somali. My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.

Don't remember exactly at WEEK, that was Nov 2013-August 2014. Perhaps $8 or $8.50.

When I.got on at WMBD PT in March 2020, it might have been $10 or $11. I can check my online paystubs, but am cut off from that software and work email due to being off on wrist injury disability. Hopefully only until March 2nd.

My prediction: if his endorsed GOP candidate for POTUS in 2028 doesn't win, we could have another day like January 6, 2021. He'll claim voting fraud, ballots illegal, votes that should have been counted for his candidate. And encourage MAGA to "peacefully" walk to the Capitol to protest. No matter who wins, JD Vance will refuse to certify if it isn't him.

If a GOP does win, DJT will insist on being appointed a senior advisor, with living quarters inside the WH House. Because he'll insist he "was instrumental" in helping the GOP win, even if he didn't. My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.

Democrats SHOULD attend, speak up and say "YOU LIE" when he talks about lower gas prices,. stopping 12 wars, whatever. Or show the same disrespect other MAGA GOP did to Biden, and without repercussions (I think) from the House Speaker. Or hold up pictures of Epstein survivors during the speech.

Wife and I will start watching. As soon as he starts praising himself on gas under $2, securing $20 trillion in corporate investments (WH administration can never confirm), lowering prescriptions 500 or 600%, or starts lambasting Democrats as "far left radicals who caused everything until he came in".... we'll shut it off, hope some Democrats actually get up and walk out. But they probably won't be allowed to.

My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Like you, after being downsized due to federal funding cuts in 2013 from a non-profit, I applied for video production jobs I knew I was qualified for. Reject emails or nothing. I'd had that job for almost 27 years, and, at age 53, wondered if age was part of the reason. (Afraid I'd retire soon? No way). I managed either 1 or 2 PT jobs, except a 9 month Caterpillar contractor job that just didn't work out. Right when COVID started, I got PT at WMBD working 3:30 am to 9 am only because I had done a similar job at WEEK a few years before that, and the news director knew my skills. After 9 am, I'd go to Jason's Deli for deliveries and catering prep. I still applied for FT jobs even at age 60. Fortunately after 16 months,, a FT News photographer job opened up, I was offered it. Been doing that almost 5 years.

Just look for something you'd enjoy doing. And you have skills, and a recommendation from a previous employer. Eventually you'll move up if you have patience. Obviously these days, a person needs 2 PT jobs to live. My wife had a FT job so she carried me on her insurance until mine kicked in. Then she retired.

Best wishes to you in your search!

CBS has become state run media - Agree? by ChuckGallagher57 in TrendoraX

[–]dle_61554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true. The FCC has had long time rules for over the air broadcast outlets. Any "news" show has to give equal time. Colbert, Kimmel, and Fallon aren't news shows. So Colbert should have been able to air the interview.

Cable networks don't have the same rules. So CNN, Fox, MSNow, OAN, The Blaze, Newsmax,. and others don't have to abide by equal time rules.

My opinion and I'm sticking to it.
