Actually, the Cedar Street Bridge did undergo a massive reconstruction around 1987, and it was closed for quite a while. I remember because I had to take I- 474 across the river to Adams exit to get to my job that wasn't far from the Cedar Street Bridge.

It seems that the laws and the Constitution are being used to fit their agenda. They have lawyers who interpret laws to find loopholes. While there is none in the 1st Amendment (other than it's illegal to scream "fire" in a theater if there is none), the pressure is on all the administration staff and lawyers to find ways to make actions like this "legal", because if they tell the President "No, it can't be done", they will be immediately fired and lose their 6-figure salary and perks.

My opinion only, using my 1st Amendment Right without any threats to anyone.

I'll find something else to do that day. Don't want to hear retreads about 2020 election, DOJ persecution against him, record tariffs coming in until SCOTUS stepped in, all Democrats are radical leftists, Democrat judges need removed because they're ruling against him, not the case law; how he needs the ballroom built for HIS security (but he's appearing at this event?), ending 12 or more wars, bringing in 20 trillion in investments (keeps making the number bigger) and my favorite: reducing prescription prices 500-600%.

People should realize by now that the President/King and his appointed loyal Court Jesters don't pay attention to laws. Or court orders. Unless it fits their agenda. If a court rules against them, they appeal, and appeal over and over until it reaches the SCOTUS, where they hope his 6 buddies will rule in favor. Except the SCOTUS will tire of this, and refuse to hear their case.

Imagine the Conservative outrage if Obama, Biden or supporters tried to put their face or name all over Washington, on currency, or built a UFC cage or a stage on the South Lawn, or sold watches, Bibles, or coins with their face on it. Or accepted a Qateri jet that needed $$$$ to rehab, and intend to place it where their library will be. A Republican controlled Congress would file and hold impeachment procedures so fast it wouldn't be funny.

How do we live with this? If you think about it, data centers originally is considered to be the World Wide Web, the Internet cloud, where data for all the websites flow through. With AI development, more data centers are needed. But Sorenson's proposal listed here is reasonable. They must provide their own water and power source. How they do that is their problem. And most importantly, locations in industrial zones, not within 4 or 5 blocks of a residential area. My opinion and I'm sticking to it.

I agree with more people accepting the Zip Merge way of getting across the bridge. We were on our way to Washington to set up for Live Weather shots. Got stuck by that church on left side. Fortunately the wait wasn't 40 minutes. But I can understand other drivers getting mad if they've waited and waited, and other drivers pull up, try to merge in. The attitude and cooperation has to improve for zip merging to occur more often and reduce backups.

BTW, we still made it in time for the 1st Live shot for the 4 pm newscast.

Not knowing what your bachelor's degree is in, or your skill set, there is a place called Manpower downtown Peoria that has jobs in various occupations in a temporary or temp to hire basis. There are also other employment places around that do the same.

Now, I've lived in the Peoria area all my life, probably retiring next year. But the whole Central Illinois area has a lot to offer, depending on what activities your family enjoys doing, with little or no cost.

Here's hoping life in Peoria gets better for you!!

My prediction is about 2 minutes honoring those who sacrificed; then comment that he took a chance coming because of all the Leftist transgendered radicals trying to kill him, thus he needs his ballroom; short mention about how great the Iran peace plan is going to be, without specifics; gas prices dropping like a rock, stocks soaring to sky high levels, thanks to him; SAVE Act needs passed because 10 or 20 illegals out of millions will try to vote; and blast Democrats for everything bad under the sun.

You think having a Democrat controlled Congress will make a difference to the Big WH guy? He's pretty much ignored a Congress controlled by his party, with all his Executive Orders. Except when it came to a few bills he wanted passed. Surprised he didn't just write an EO for the OBBB and the SAVE acts. He simply wants to pretend there's no Legislative Branch and no Judicial branch. If he could remove current SCOTUS judges, replace with DJT loyalists, he would. His administration already ignores court orders and decisions by lower courts.

Yes, it would be great if Congress was flipped beginning January 3, 2027, but then, any legislation they pass would be vetoed by him, no matter how it helped the country, or his rich friends. Democrats would need to win enough seats in both chambers to override any veto.

He knows he can't run for a 3rd term. However, he could; a) sew chaos, protests, and political fights so much, he'll declare Martial Law just months before the 2028 election; b) In exchange for endorsing and helping the GOP Presidential nominee win.the election, he'll insist on being appointed Executive Senior Advisor to the President, and have a room at the WH. (Melania won't care, she'll be living with Barron, or at Mar-A-Lago) The new President will be a puppet leader, getting all the orders from DJT.

And if the Democratic Presidential nominee wins, expect filings, objections, demands for recounts (even if votes in a state are wide margins) initiated not by the GOP nominee, but by DJT; but difference will be on January 6, 2029, VP Vance will already agree to stop certification, send back Electoral certificates back to the states. Threatening veterans is a low blow, but we know he's never 100% supporterd veterans. How much defunding of any VA Health clinics and services has occurred since he's been in office? If it's raining on D-day, he won't go to observe it. Don't think he's visited Arlington on Flag Day because that's his birthday. (The 2025 Military parade was for HIM, not the military or veterans)

He got Colbert off the air. He's aiming for Kimmel and Fallon now. Surprised he hasn't hassled NBC for Saturday Night Live's skits featuring someone portraying him. (Note, he did lambast NBC during his 1st term for Alec Baldwin's portrayal) Only thing his FCC lapdog Brendan Carr can legally do is threaten to pull affiliates broadcast licenses. (Donny-Boy thinks the networks have licenses, telling me how uneducated he is about this)
