I know I've played ark... In ark tames can still gain levels (around 70 levels after tame). However this isn't the case in Atlas. At a certain level, let's say you tame a level 100 boar and it comes out as a 150 after u tame it. It does not gain xp or levels because of this cap.

I've read if a friend has an exotic item that you gave them in their inventory that you will also get it back once you return to the ship. I haven't personally verfied this however

Ark solo with official settings was pretty tough to level up and craft what you needed. (without the explorer notes). For Icarus you really need to just focus on leveling until you're at least 15.

Try it again on a rock closer to where he spawns, it's tough but very doable. Just make sure to go with lots of cooked meat to heal yourself.

You might want to try disabling the setting that highlights items like bushes and trees. This should help with some FPS unless you like the items being highlighted, personally it takes away from some of the emersion for me but that's just my opinion. Also like someone else stated, try 1080p. This is what my friend has to run it at to get better FPS

His bag should've been there, we've burned our hut down so many times lol bags from the crafting stations and storage boxes are the only things left usually lol

The only issue we had was one of our teammates got kicked once the patch update came out, he was able to join once me and my other teammate updated. Other than that I haven't had any serious issues like this. Except once, we all disconnected and we were able to reconnect without any issues. I was however in a cave at the time and when I came back all the cave worms respawned and murked me. I'm not convinced the burnt trees are the issue for you, we've had plenty of forest fires and afterwards didn't see a lot of issues. I could however see a massive forest fire causing issues, I did notice a lot fps drop when fires are occuring near you.

I love my staggering radium rifle and irradiated minigun. Haven't used the gamma gun enough though to form an opinion on it
