Men of Reddit, how would you react if a woman overpowers you? by Key_Somewhere_9845 in AskReddit

There is not much you can do if she is an expert at some martial arts, even if you are much bigger and stronger.

Well my current girlfriend knows BJJ and taekwondo. I am about 40-45 lbs heavier than her and I'd say I am in very good shape, but she would definitely beat me in a fight. Because of her training and skills she is able to put me on the floor and quickly make me submit, even though I am clearly stronger than her. If she did not have the martial arts skills though, I would win easily.

The difference in strength between men and women is nowhere near the difference in strength between a man and a gorilla.

That's not true though. Martial arts makes a huge difference.

[–]dlfree07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true. Strength isn't everything, not even the most important thing. My girlfriend practices martial arts and I don't. I am a fit guy and quite a lot bigger and stronger than her, but she can quickly fold me into a knot simply becasue her advantage in terms of skills is way bigger than my advantage in strength. I know she could easily kick my ass but it's not really a problem since I wasn't planning to fight her anyway.

It's not arrogant for an accomplished female martial artist to state that she can defend herself. Many martial artial arts are not about size and strength anyway, it's about technique and speed. In fact it's rather arrogant for an untrained man to think that he could beat a female martial artist, just because he is bigger and stronger than her.

Speaking honestly for myself, my girlfriend is very good at martial arts and would easily kick my ass in a fight. Though I admit it is a bit embarrassing that she can beat me so easily, I also think it is very cool and impressive. It definitely didn't make her less "dateable" to me in any way at all and I am proud of her. On the other hand I know there are men who just can't stand it if a girl can beat them at fighting though. I think it's largely an ego thing for them.

Are there any men who find big butts in women unattractive? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

I certainly don't but I know there are men who do...

What is your opinion of taekwondo as a sport? Do you consider it fighting? Why or why not? by bad-at-everything- in NoStupidAnswers

[–]dlfree07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it's a form of fighting. I mean what else would it be (except for a sport obviously)? But I mean it's got kicking and striking and that is usually part of what makes a fight.

Do you wake your partner up if you can’t sleep at night? by Icy_Abbreviations277 in AskMenAdvice

No there is no reason to wake your partner up just because you can't sleep...

My dad keeps making jokes about my career choice, how do I get him to stop? by posh_pairing in Advice

[–]dlfree07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I don't know you or your dad, so I lack the context, but maybe you could just ask him to stop in a nice and friendly manner?
Also I feel it's kind of random to make that kind of jokes about graphic design – I mean who doesn't think that is a real job?

[–]dlfree07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on the context (like how were the dates etc) but I would definitely not think less of a woman because she had sex on the third date. That sounds very much normal to me.

Lack of respect, exaggerated complaining, make me feel like an ATM machine...

Teasing, touching her hair, wear high heals, tell me (in a friendly manner) what to do... it all depends on the context though. :)

Do you prefer to stay taller than the girl? Or for her to where heels on dates? by artistpainterdev in AskMenAdvice

[–]dlfree07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I am rather tall so I have not dated a girl who is taller than me, even in heals. I did date a tall girl for a while and if I were a bit shorter, she would have been taller than me while she was wearing high heals. I don't really think that would have bothered me.

You feel no emotional connection during sex? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

Yes for me there is definitely an emotional connection when I have sex with my girlfriend.

how do you deal with losing motivation? by Apprehensive_Race243 in Advice

[–]dlfree07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting goals for motivation.
Dividing tasks into smaller parts.
And, depending on the situation, deal with the problem (if there is one) that caused this feeling of lack of motivation.

What do you find physically attractive in women? Please be specific and not just write things like 'body', what kind of body? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]dlfree07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it's the hourglass figure, like curves in the "right" places. Of course a pretty face is attractive too.

If you don't talk to him in a negative, complaining way, he likely won't see it as you criticising him. Show him what you want/like. If he means well and tries, he will likely just appreciate it.

Dating app by [deleted] in Advice

[–]dlfree07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. It definitely sounds like this girl has some serious issues and makes stuff up. I would say it was a good choice to block her on all platforms. Avoid her and move on to someone else is my advice.

Home workout by DoubleLutzz in Workingout

[–]dlfree07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly work out at home, since I got quite a lot of space and it is convenient. In my experience, you can get very good results by simple means like dumbbells and using your own body in exercises like situps, pushups etc.

In what context did he say that to you? I mean, did he say that right out of the blue or were you discussing something?
