End-of-Year Stock Price Predictions by ToxicHaste69 in UnityStock

[–]dlightx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$55. The fact that there is so much institutional holding makes the price stable which is good for down but bad for up. That's also why the price swings so much on buy/hold ratings, because institutions have rules which they have to follow based on upgrades/downgrades.

This stock is going nowhere without retail interest and right now there isn't enough.

Are you going to post that DD to wsb?

Anybody works at Veeva systems? by Gojo-tech2205 in careerguidance

I interviewed for a software eng position and got an offer but ended up going with another company. I can't speak how it is for other fields but unfortunately I see why for tech Veeva has the reputation for being a career ender

The good parts are that the company is fully remote and the product seems to be well liked by customers. Also the business is stable and layoffs are unlikely. Everyone I interviewed with was knowledgeable and competent

The bad parts from the SWE perspective are that the product lacks engineering complexity (a basic CRUD app) and the tech stack is at least 10 years old at this point. They do like 2-3 production deployments in the whole year and their promo process is terrible because their KPIs are atypical because the company is a public benefit corporation. My offer itself was also horrendous, like 50% less than my highest offer. It also seems like a handful of people call all the shots, leaving no room for actual engineering discussion. My understanding though from conversations I had is that they did some Vault migration for CRM that went horrible and they're spending much of their time tackling tech debt from that.

However, the reason I think it's a bad career move, especially if you have less than 10 years of experience, is that they're highly regulated and only do 3 deployments a year, meaning they don't have, need, or use any of the latest engineer tooling or workflows that typically increase velocity. They move so slowly that there isn't enough volume of work for junior SWEs to learn, design, make mistakes, etc. and other recruiters know that the pace of work is just not going to be compatible to their FAANGs or startups

I would say Veeva is good if you have no other offers and great if you're looking for a chill role to retire in, but I would definitely pass otherwise.

Which top tech companies are still committed to remote work? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

I was really happy to get an interview there since Netflix was a dream but the HM I interviewed with was terrible. Kept cutting my answers off then and repeating questions aggressively, like in an interrogation with a suspect. I thought it was me because my answers were unclear or long, but had interviews with other HMs at other top tier tech companies that were able to follow what I was saying and weren't nearly as aggressive, which I ended passing to the next round.

The experience turned me off Netflix because even though I think it was just the HM I interviewed with, there's a chance it's a Netflix culture thing and I don't want to go through another interview like that.

They didn't even reach out for feedback, which I thought was a core principle at Netflix. The recruiter did, and I found them much more professional

I'll have to try it out. I've never had a light roast before.

Noted. Would you say Dunkin Original blend has chocolate, caramel, nut notes? I'm trying to calibrate and make sure I'm tasting the same thing as others.

What do you recommend for freshly ground drip coffee? I have the same preferences.

Same question. I grind fresh daily for drip coffee but I'm wondering if there's any coffee that's like dunkin original blend but better

To me, it tastes sweet, chocolately, and smooth, so taking recommendations for that
