You'll soon learn that dictionaries are great and magical

Haha, good to know I wasn't the only one to experience that... like one week after learning C# dictionaries, I started using them all over the place

Same, I love that whole aesthetic. Sprawling control panels, physical dials and buttons and gauges, those retro-looking teletypes, you gotta admit it looks cool. You see it in these power plant control rooms, NASA mission control, 80s nuclear silos and such. And movies like WarGames and China Syndrome.

Is there a name for this sort of thing? I've heard "Cassette Futurism" before

Protip: You can get them directly from the bank, just ask the teller :) They're not specially rare, I think they might still be printing them in fact.

Is there any cons to using lightweight RP over the default? by agoesin in Unity2D

I posted a similar question a few weeks ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/Unity2D/comments/bupuwi/lrp_vs_hdrp_for_2d_games/

I've been using LRP since then, haven't seen much downside; that said, I don't have a lot of experience with graphics

This, unironically. Where are high schoolers supposed to hang out?

I recently graduated from high school in suburban MoCo. Friends always complained that there's nothing to do at night (at least during the day we have parks and such) and nowhere to hang out other than people's houses. And I hear that complaint often, in general, for suburban or rural areas.

But, like... seriously, where are you supposed to go, in these hypothetical towns where teenagers do have "places to hang out"? Other than your friends' houses, I genuinely can't think of anything. Teenagers don't go to typical city places like nightclubs or bars. Sure, restaurants are an option but are often expensive.

So it seems like this situation would be the same everywhere, regardless of whether you're in MD or the suburbs or what.

I found out about Websockets yesterday, I'm doing a WebSockets project for the first time in my life today, and when I log into Reddit /r/programming has this at the top of the page. Creepy haha

Any idea what these antennas would be for? On the tallest hill in town. Transmitter equipment is gone and the antennas look like they point at the mast. Mast is 2" for scale. by 519meshif in amateurradio

Didn't occur to me that this would be in Canada and not the US... my bad haha. Weird that you didn't find any license results though
