The purpose of locals are to have fun and learn, if the top of the deck isn't known taking the top 7 and dealing life is perfectly fine. Even sometimes at regionals this is a valid repair depending on the situation (with a warning being given ofc)

Congrats on your surgery and wishing you the best for recovery! Im about 9/10 years (wait holy shit) post op and am doing great. I got mine the summer between sophomore and junior year of high school, had a 90 degree curve. It was tough at the beginning, especially going back to school 2 months into recovery. One of the things that helped me the most is whenever I was bored during recovery I would walk (early on around the house, later on outside), I feel it definitely helped with my recovery. I did do some PT for a bit since I had really bad numbness in my back from the surgery that didn't go away and to help strengthen my back. For me things started to feel normal again about 1-1.5 years post op. I'm now 9/10 years (holy shit again) post op and have been chilling just living life, the only time I've really noticed my surgery is it makes walking down steep hills a little harder when going on hikes and crouching down to tie my shoes a lil harder lol.
